Hi - I've finished my timing belt job and noticed what I think is a missing o-ring or gasket. I see what looks like a plastic ring on the old dephaser pulley but don't think I could or should try to save it.
Can this be replaced or is it new cap time..
The crank locking pin is a Sealey aftermarket item. As such I don't want to risk putting too much force into it. I will have another go with it tomorow when the horseshoe is in perhaps. My belts were last changed 10 years ago!
I managed to get the dephaser snapped free using the tool without the horseshoe bar inserted at the rear. But the exhaust pulleys is pretty tight. I imagine if I can get the horseshoe pulleys into the rear that would help stop the pulley moving.
The engine is slightly out of time already but...
Hi all. I'm midway through an engine out full service. I have removed the aux belt but think I missed a trick not breaking the exhaust, dephaser and crankshaft pulleys loose before taking the engine out.
I have the genuine renault locking tools. I don't belive I should put any force locking...
I'm somewhat committed now to engine out the top. I've bought a straight flared spanner from amazon which I hope will get in there
My only other option is this joint on the pipe itself.
Hi all. I'm in the process of engine removal but one last bolt is preventing me lifting the engine out. The bolt connecting the power steering to the pump. I cant get a 17mm spanner in there. I've tried a crow foot spanner but there is no room.
What tool can get in there? The other option...
Hi - sorry for the multiple threads on this topic but I've performed this before several years ago without issue but this time I'm having issues.
I have a new to me 182 and have bought from Ebay a headunit which I think is compatible. My car had a storage box under the passenger seat which Is...
Hi - I want to put in an OEM head unit into my 2005 Clio 182. My research told me that the Cabasse auditorium was the best unit but the one I bought has different plugs. My harness doesn't have the same plugs.
I also want to retrofit bluetooth using an adaptor into the CD input or aux...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I inspected the timing belt today by removing the engine mount and cover. It looked ok but it's hard to really see. The aux belt was showing signs of cracking so I'm very nervous to drive the car until it's done.
I'm now leaning towards as Bluebeard has said to...
Hi guys, I've recently bought a 182 which I'm intending to do some refreshing of. The belts were last done 10 years ago! so need attention right now. I'm not a mechanic but plan on doing this myself with the genuine tools.
I've also got a slightly crunchy third gear so plan to remove the...
Thanks - I drove it home yesterday, its on winter tyres (though I have Turinis with sticky rubber to fit). The tracking is out and I felt nervous overtaking on B roads. Completely different to my old 182 which had new top mounts and Bilstein B12s. My old car still had a firm ride, but it was...
Hi - I've recently bought a 182 with both cup packs. I've had a couple of Clios before (Trophy & 182) but this is my first standard 182. The car does not ride great, but I'm more used to Bilstein B12s or Sachs so not a fair comparison.
I had a quick look under the car and there are some...
