Cat D I'd consider after a test drive and a good inspection, but I'd personally stay well away from a Cat C car as this tends to be more then just cosmetic damage and usually involves jigs :S
Should be able to bag a reasonable one for £800 I managed to get my Naples for £1200 with 2 folders full of history including recent cambelt, steering rack, suspention and brakes just needs a little cosmetic TLC, you tried pistonheads ?
My fiances got one off these 1.6 16v 100 BHP nice lil cars much better built then clios tbh nice upgrade, if it was me though I'd have got a 1*2 and used the rest on insurance.
