So there's a guy on Fleabay who makes up all sorts of brake pipes for various cars in copper with the correct unions, so problem solved.
Apparently shocks are not available because Renault has discontinued all things related to the 172 and 182. However Phase 1 front shocks are of sufficiently...
So, does anyone know the spec/diameter/bore of the Clio brake pipes as I will need to buy some coppper. Someone's lent me a flaring kit but it seems to be all imperial not metric.
Ended up replacing shocks and springs both sides as well as discs and pads and then found rust under front wheel...
Thanks for the pic Yarp. Yes Louis - ABS to front caliper where it bends under the wheel arch liner to go down to the caliper and the plastic protective sheild ends.. There's a supporting plastic bracket it clips in to and it's on the bend there. Wondering if I can get a union in there or...
During the MOT test my 172 phase 2 blew a brake pipe. Brake fluid pissing out under the car nearside front. Apparently the test gear senses the weight of the car and applies extra pressue during the brake tests. Having carefully limped the short distance home I find that the brake pipe has...
So, new exhaust time. What would be required for a 182 exhaust to be fitted to a 172 P2? Assuming it's possible - rear bumper cutouts obviously, but what else?
Thanks

Hmph, broken nearside ABS reluctor ring. So removing lower balljoint arm to release driveshaft (both sides) and replacing ABS rings - relatively easy. Getting lower balljoint arms to re-align with the two retaining bolts - a pita.
Hi
Having problems with my 172 ABS. It works fine under normal driving conditions, however when I'm slowing for a junction or any other reason, just as I'm literally at slow walking place ABS cuts in hard for no apparent reason. It's quite dangerous because it can cause me to overshoot at a...
Today I have been mainly removing my backbox which was hanging one inch from the floor. Tomorrow I will be looking for a replacement. Next week I will be replacing my nearside front wheelbearing.
Hi
New backbox time (hanging 1" from the floor :-( ) Thinking of a stainless sytem. Has anyone got a KTR (Ktec) 172 stealth (silenced) exhaust system fitted? If so how noisy is it compared with a standard exhaust system. I'm not looking for a particularly 'sporty' exhaust note' and...
Just had this problem and thought I would add something to this thread. I simply sprayed WD40 directly in to the keyhole using the red tube thingy you get with the can, worked the locks with the key a few times on either side (immediately noticeable difference in that the stiffness went aaway)...
OK. Had the tracking checked at QuilFit, they have a Hunter setup. Charged me £59.99 which I thought was a extortion. Problem was I couldn't watch them do it. I'm always suspicious of these places. What's to stop them putting your tracking out and then telling you they've fixed it. Anyway...
I'm wiring up a dashcam, and want a permanent live feed so I can switch it on and off independently of ignition allowing me to leave it switched on when parked in supermarket car parks etc. I have connector to piggyback in the fusebox and the horn is live feed but appears only to be live at the...
