no I think the pivot washer has failed and there is a paddle clutch so just replacing those two bits will be enough for me

The clio williams in the pistonhead advert in post 1 is mine. Decided to sell as I got it quite cheap in the first place but I've fallen in love with it, so I'm considering removing it from sale. I've spent nearly £600 in the past 2 weeks of ownership, some of which is overly fussy stuff...

102,000 so far! Was thinking of a rebuild but some members on the other forum have done 145k+ with regular track use. This is my daily driver after getting refused car credit. These are what I used to own before the williams:

yep and the postman. I'm replacing it with a standard exhaust at the end of April for £116 + vat from the dealer, plus about £30 for a local fitter to replace it. It bangs on the bumper constantly. The idea is to replace everything back to stock.

Thanks. My friend who strips and rebuilds classic cars said it feels like an issue with the pressure plate. He said the way the pedal goes solid in the middle of travel, then goes so loose that the pedal bangs against the floor he feels could be pressure plate problem

ok spoke to GSF and they said the part number just relates to a 'sachs' clutch for a 1.8 or 2.0 litre clio. He cant say if its uprated or standard. So maybe clutch is ok and it's cable

Mine was cracked and causing an ABS light on the dash. Renault want £143 plus VAT :eek::eek: Any idea where I can get one cheaper. Its for the off side front

just checked the receipt and it says 3 piece clutch kit from a company called GSF but it says on it 'send valeo not sachs' Not sure what that means It was a MRP of £143 too if that gives any clues

Just booked in for new standard clutch to be fitted. And new cable. They're gonna do the cable first, then clutch if the problem isn't resolved. Sounds like a paddle clutch has been fitted
