    Max bhp/torque 197 gearbox

250NM..at least, anybody out there with a tuned 106hp version of the 1.5DCI? Standard 197 already has 215NM, so I expect the turbokit to take it to at least to ~300NM. The 6-speed box in the Megane is not a TL4?

    Max bhp/torque 197 gearbox

As per title; was wondering how much the gearbox can take? And with 'can take' I mean it's good for at least 70k miles and you can just always use all the available power in every gear. Reason for asking; The main thing I don't like about the 197 is the lack of torque in combination with the...

    Changing seatbelts

Getting tired of those silver seatbelts which always seem to look dirty, is it easy to change the seatbelts to the normal black/grey one? Can you just order seatbelts from the non-rs version? and of course how much €€(or £ in your case)? Thnx.

    Orbisoud?

Exactly, strange thing is; outside that speedrange it's still loud, but just nice and raspy instead of boomy. You have the road-version? I was hoping that that one wasn't so boomy at those speeds :dapprove: . Not that it is going to help you (being in the UK), but my Renault specialist has a...

    Orbisoud?

It won't pass the dutch MOT, don't know about the UK MOT. The sound is indeed truly unique, when you're in the mood it's lovely. But living with it day by day (especially when you have passengers) becomes tiresome.

    Orbisoud?

I have the non-stainless steel race version; it's the lightest exhaust by miles, the mounting (of the single backbox) is superb, there's a sportcat(100 cell I believe) included and you do feel a noticable gain, haven't had a before/after RR though. But it's unbearable loud (especially at legal...

    Best exhaust for performance

Officially, my Orbisoud was €1700 (the race version, which isn't even made from stainless steel  ). Bloody expensive, but when you look at the system, the mounting plates/points, design(single backbox), weight, etc. it makes some sense. It's unbearable loud on top of it! Love it though..

    more stripping out info

So, it has for sure nothing to do with enhancing the rigidity of the chassis (even as a side-effect)? I'll take it out tonight if that's the case..

what does your 182 run like when cold

Just do a Group N remap, problem solved (in my case anyway).

Is the ph1 a bit dated now?

Nope, park a 197 next to a 1*2 and you see my point. Even the most basic cars today (like an Aygo) have bulging arches, needs more then that to stand out from the crowd these days.

Rear Brakes - How Much Work Do They Do ?

I always thought the front/rear brake balance was variable? In the wet there must be less braking on the back then in the dry.. Don't know how the system knows how to adjust the balance depending on roadconditions though..

Is the ph1 a bit dated now?

It seems the Mk3 Ph2 is going back to the Mk2 Ph1; the closed front, the rounded flat headlights.. Agree the Mk2 as a whole looks dated; low waisteline, narrow arches, it has no roadpresence at all..still drives damned wel though :) .

    de-cat question

I've had the decat removed/fitted a few times now; before grp N mapping, after grp N mapping, etc. I'm convinced it loses quite some torque lower down the rev range and no gains top end either. It's a shame because I love the sound of a decat (with a Milltek). No RR data to prove it though, so...

Hi Frank, Could you please count me in on this one? If Henk can do the total job, that's perfect.

    Miltek exhaust owners

I've got a Milltek, it has indeed a nice bass sound to it, not loud with a cat, but with a decat it's quite a bit louder (bit to boomy for my liking). I'm not satisfied on how it fits; first of all you need to fill up the rubber spins it hangs in, otherwise it's hanging way too low. I also...
