Any idea what this cable is?

Behind the passenger headlight.

Didn't have much travel on it so was struggling to think what it connected to. At first, I thought it with the bonnet catch button, but the fitting definitely didn't match it.

Renault fitted these to comply with noise regulations and to modulate the sound of the engine at various stages of performance. I reinstalled mine because I was on a standard map, and the car was hesitating slightly during cold starts. As soon as I refitted the valve, the car ran fine again. So I guess they served a dual purpose.

I believe they helped the engine in the warm up start, but I'm not exactly sure how.
