Upbadging Nonces

Yeah I have seen a few “VXD” branded Vauxhalls around. Assumed it was a thing in their followers. Along with dragging their knuckles along the ground 🤷🏻‍♂️

"Top text - Bottom text" is f**king hilarious, they know what they're doing.

My car has everything that makes it an R-Design, that’s the difference

Didn't roll out of the factory as an R-design though. Did it....... CALLUM??

In fact, when was the last time it rolled out of it's parking space under it's own steam? 😂

Apart from the bit on the log book that says R-Design 😉
Plenty of official R-designs without that too though, it's just a trim package that you could go into a Volvo dealer and pay to have added to any C30, it's not special especially on the prefacelifts.

However, Cookson does have me on the badges though, because it's not actually a 2 litre diesel despite me upbadging it on the back

Aye, mine was a S40 Se Sport T5 but was a R-Design. One of 35 made in that spec, one of one in red.

The S40s were funny. The T5s were in so low numbers I spotted a couple of others but they all seem slightly different. Whether it’s trim, wheels, badge placement. There doesn’t seem to be 2 identical cars amongst them

There was a massive amount of options, plus the S40/V50's facelift was very minor so can be hard to tell off the cuff whether it's a pre or post facelift and they have different badge placements etc too. It tends to annoy me when people advertise their cars as fully loaded/fully specced because they literally never are as that's almost impossible, and often they're a really shite spec too which is even more annoying lol.

Anyway don't want to derail the thread any further. Saw an X5 the other day with the old Renaultsport 'sport' badge on it. Those c***s used to be on f**king everything, now Halfords don't sell them any more (I think) it's dying out as a trend. I do have a pic but it's on the mrs' phone and she's asleep now, but they were always a reliable spot.

Looked a little different in the end though

Yeah, that ended badly 😂.

I really liked mine. There were 3 main problems really:

1. Handling - it didn’t
2. Fuel consumption - never has so much fuel been consumed for such conservative performance
3. Turning circle - you’d have to stop and reverse trying to turn a complete circle on a football field.

Aside from that it was great!

Ones with 18 inch wheels had rack stops fitted, they turn round like @Cub. ’s ocean liner 😀

D5 is much better day to day in stock form tbh. Same performance just half the fuel lol.
