We have a thread running on the Trophy forum documenting sales through Collecting Cars over the last few years.I know it was chassis number 1 and from the Renault collection but at over 15,000 miles crazy, but that was the market a few years back crazy
I love this and hate it at the same time. I love it because you can see it looks genuine (I always look for that little bit of sponge under the bonnet near the NS front wing – very few have this). I hate it because I’d want to remove all the surface rust and make it look new – which costs more money!
Most likely sold off market before now hitting cc
I agree Nick. A shame we'll never know what it changed hands for. I was looking forward to watching a good old CC bidding war... 😁Shame we couldn’t see it play out -
They were £15.5k list price, but cheeky discounts could be had depending on your relationship with your Renault dealer…How much were the Trophys new?
Different car isn't it? similar mileage but number 169
Looks like it’s got something covering the existing carpet.Unsure whats going on with the interior carpet but looks missing? It doesn’t look like a 9k odd mile example to me?

The heater panel peeling issue is an age related problem, it has nowt to do with use or mileage. They seem to have a lifespan of about 7-8 years before they start to peel of their own accord, even on cars doing minimal mileage and kept in reasonable storage conditions.Unsure whats going on with the interior carpet but looks missing? 1st job is probably going to have to be belts..Tbh the car has just been sat for years in storage when you check mot history.
What will be interesting is what maintenance has occurred during this period
I'm looking forward to reading some of the back story to this car once the description goes live, if the seller decides to let us know of course...

Different manufacturing techniques. Both the Climate (acrylic (base) and metal(sport)) finishes are thru colour so plastic is all dark grey. The sport (metal) finish is applied over the top of the dark grey plastic. The standard AC controls have a white plastic panel which is then coated/painted and that that cracks with age and heat cycles. Cups/trophies use the base model plastics for all panels (door grabs, dash etc)Is the cup/trophy/non rs clios heater panel not grey all the way through like the climate control equipped cars? 🤔
Just pulled apart a climate control panel to get access to the PCB. Other than the stickiness, its never going to peel like that! 😬
I really hope someone buys it and either strips it, fits a cage and turns it into a track car or turbos it and has it spend most is life in the garage broken. I would love to see the inbound hate.
