Got a proposed uk delivery date of the 24th March! Hoping for a collection date in the first week of April 🤩.
My dealer has got a Blue Techno demo vehicle in which I’ve got for a couple of hours on the 17th. Which coincidentally is the build date of my car lol
Will be good to actually drive it some decent distance without a stranger sat next to me

In Seville with work and I have a day off today. So went to have a look at this new circuit they have built just outside of the city. Seems they were having some sort of Trackday with the local Alpine garage bringing some cars along. And yes it’s pissing it down with rain here.

This is the first time I've ever ordered a new car from factory and already feels like the most drawn out process in the world (ordered on 15th January with R Pass).

Very easy to do man maths on £189 a month.
£80 a month saving on Fuel
£15 a month saving on Road Tax
£50 a month on other consumables (as a new car)
Pretty much pays itself.

I bet those wheels will be dirt cheap on eBay etc as people swap them for alloys later on. Bit of a bugger to get them shipped to the UK though 😂

What has happed to us that we see a car and say we would rather have steel's and wheel covers.....
They do look better and fits with the OG 5 philosophy.

The Renault 5 GT Turbo performance wise was way up there back in the day. Hot hatch that could hit 60mph in just over 7 seconds.
What does this new 5 achieve? Bet it doesn't even crack the 8s.

0-62 in 7.9s, which is alright for a 150hp electric box. Plus this isn't the performance version, so not sure why you'd expect it to be rapid.
There are two variants, one is 9 secs to 60mph and the others 8.
My old Nissan Leaf which is a 10 year old design is quicker ffs 😂
Not expecting anything, it’s all the hype comparing it to the 5 GT Turbo like it’s the replacement. It will never be comparable so why bother comparing it

I suspect it's as much because it's the first moderately interesting affordable EV as because it's actually anything like an R5 GTT. And the Alpine version is one of the first affordable EV hot hatches. In that respect, it's a pretty important car for enthusiasts, as it's a glimmer of hope that EVs might actually be interesting.

Some sad news today… delivery has been pushed back a couple of weeks. No reason given unfortunately.
However this has given me the opportunity to get a home charger installed. However I have zero clue or idea on which one..!
Should I just get one supplied and fitted by Octopus? Or is there something better out there?

Don't think it is that easy.
If I remeber correctly. The a290 uses a varient of the motor found in the megane E-Tech. So it would be physically larger compared to what is found in the 5.
