Been looking for a while now and accidentally stumbled accross this. Nice and local, owned since 2012 and previously by @colesy

Belts done recently, 72k miles, PS3s all round.

Needs a good clean, one scuff removed from front bumper, new front splitter. Otherwise all good.

Original though out including number plates and paint!

Wow I haven’t seen that old girl for years!
I was 18 when I bought that from a guy in farnborough, paid £3250 for it with full Renault history at the time and only 30k miles on it.
Took it Scotland for my cousins wedding and sold it when I got back as I decided I wanted to go racing and I’ve been poor ever since.

Cars been living in Swindon since.

Over than pms top mounts its original which it’s refreshing.

Best Clio hands down imo

That’s a great example. There’s a similar mileage one featured on PH just now starting bid close to 7k

You got it. I was trying to sort out getting the money together and noticed it had already sold before I was ready. Looked like a good one from the advert.

Did they ever hill climb it in the end? Fairly sure that’s what they wanted to do when they bought it off me.
I even kept the receipt from when I sold it and had thought many times over the years phoning them and seeing if they still had it/wanted to sell it.

Nice.

No the wife used it mainly but now they have both retired it was redundant. They were considering keeping and tracking the car but decided against it.

Looks a tidy car Ant. I’ve still got the original tyre inflation glue in the foam holder that was in mine 😂😂

Looks nice that. I'd still like a relatively standard 172 Cup as a weekend toy. So many good memories of my old one.

Going to make a start on this next week.

Insured it today at a cost of £160 via Aviva 😂 why can’t my Porsche be this cheap.

Bits to source

- Front splitter (might have to use Skoda)
- Wishbones or bushes
- Cup shocks or B14s
- Front arb bushes
- Rack inner/outers

All of the above other than arb bushes and rack inner/outers might be tricky to source.

Happy to use B14s but I would prefer standard shocks.

In terms of cosmetics. Car is still factory paint so it has a fair few door dings but not marked or chipped so will remove nicely.

Front bumper has a skuff on one corner. I’ll wet sand that area to take the edge off it then go over a few times with my DA polisher. It will do until I get time to have it painted.

Drivers side pillar badge is missing the ‘2’ so need to sort something to replace it with.

Other than that, machine polish and seal.

Interior is really good. It’s let down by the lack of mats which is easily sorted.

Dash and door handles are nice and sticky. Lovely. So I’ll need to address this at some point.

That’s my plans.

I’d recommend this splitter. Looks very similar to OEM and much better than the Skoda one.
