Compared to your yellow 200 would you say it's a nicer drive for daily pottering about and motorway?

Hopefully it's not long till you get a home charger.

@Sash if you've not got your charger installed yet, did the car come with the three pin charger lead. I'd imagine even that would add about 25-30% on an over night charge from a domestic socket.

Nope, no granny charger supplied unfortunately. I don’t think spending money on buying one for a couple weeks is worth it.

It’s smoother and quieter but I still prefer the Clio!

Maybe I have more emotional attachment to the Clio.
Took the 5 to the driving test centre today as all the examiners wanted to take a close up look and they all asked what was happening with the Clio as they all love Moe too! However there is now arguments over who’s going to take the first test in the 5..! 🤣

Sport mode rollling then floor it you get a little push back in the seat but they’re no Tesla… however still quick enough to lose your licence in!

Off the line from standing then any respectable 'fast' car will probably be quicker (as the book figures suggest), but in the mid-range the burst of instant power leaves a lot of things trailing. To be fair, the lack of gear changes and that instant response probably makes it seem faster than it really is, but also makes for great fun. The Alpine will be quicker.

I’m not kicking the 5, I love them.
It’s not really designed to be ‘fast’ but I bet it’s still a right laugh to chuck about.

No doubt the A290 will be even more so in every way, still not ‘fast’ though 🤣

As much as I like the 5 I don’t love it.
It’s too easy to drive. In fact I’d argue you don’t drive it you just supervise.
The steering is too light (and even a bit notchy at times), the brakes are fcuking ridiculous, just blow on the pedal and it’s nosediving to the floor 🙄, no feeling Or feedback from either.
The dashboard tells you the speed limit - except I’ve found it to be wrong on many occasions!

The parking sensors and reversing camera annoy the bejesus out of me - I cover the dash with a microfiber when doing manoeuvres 🤣

Pupils like it because it’s new, shiny and they haven’t got to put much effort in to get a result… sums up young people these days.

I have driven a Lot of different electric cars teslas,polestars, cupras fair few others too and find them all just as you say Sash, very detached from the driving experience.

They are quick (Model 3 performance very!)

But after you get used to the intial novelty of the instant power (lots of the others are only fast for a few seconds then run out of power 🤣) they all seem very dull to me.

Have no soul or character and all seem to look more square and boxy shapes as time goes on.

I do like the looks of the 5 thou.
Love the almost matching plates 😎

If you just not into cars and want something to get you from a to b as quietly cheaply and easy as possible then they are good.
But couldn't just have one as my only car.

The Clio is going to undergo some TLC if I can find someone trustworthy to do it. Then back into active service hopefully. That’s the idea anyway. 🙏🏼
