Have felt it for a few months, but feels like we are at the beginning of something monumental happening in the world.
As if science fiction, is becoming fact, in front of our eyes.
I didn't think the internet was that revolutionary when it came out, until the tools got loaded onto it. That took years, but the AI revolution has just gone at warp speed.

It’s like we are living in an episode of Charlie Brookers Black Mirror.

Just imagine the sort of scams this is going to be used for. Then imagine the sort of people who scammers target already. They haven't got a chance.

To quote the description, 'I used to shoot $500k pharmaceutical commercials. Shooting something like this would have taken me and 50 crew members over 2 months from script to final edit.

I made this with $500 in Veo 3 credits and it took a day'

It’s 100% fucked. I was born in the sweet spot running about as a kid with not a care in the world, no one cared how you dressed, raved my socks off with no pics or videos to show how fucked up I got and no pressure of social media but still experiencing technology. Now everything’s just fake bullshit.
I could spot Ai a month or 2 ago with fucked up fingers, text or movement but now I’m as gullible as the gullible. What’s it gonna be like in 5 or 10 years ? Future generations are proper fucked.

Having a discussion with the wife, and she hates it so much she basically refuses to discuss it lol, to be fair it probably affects her more than the average being an aspiring illustrator.

But, I just find it f**king fascinating! Love it, and can't wait to mess around with it. Anyone been trying NotebookLM? Really cool stuff.

I wrote a quick email in work the other day. Gmail asked if I wanted to polish it so I thought f**k it, let's see what it looks like...

It looks like thicko AyAyRon just regurgitated a dictionary. That's definitely AI 😂

I find it all quite exciting if I'm honest. Feels like we're all currently living in the generation where the world will be changing and embracing AI in all aspects of life, be that in society or professional aspects.

Cyberpunk in real life sounds pretty intriguing. I think there'll be a lot of barriers to overcome in terms of oversight with AI, the job interview scenarios seems like a good example. There needs to be goalposts, but how they will be set and how fair that will be will be another issue that will need sorting.

I'm sure I'm a few months time it'll prove me wrong, but for it to replace humans in the workplace, at least in my sector, it needs to understand a businesses nuance, whether that means I become the one feeding that into the prompt, I don't know.

That said, everything I've ever simplified or automated with code just encouraged the end user to be a bigger r****d. Would hate to see them with a command prompt and blindly trusting the output.
Definitely an inherent risk, hence learning to drive a hgv.

I wonder if in the future there will be some kind of mandated time stamp type thing that shows that it's ai or not. Obviously that's a weak example as it can just be edited out, but I guess something to show that's definitely real or definitely ai as obviously it's getting harder and harder to tell!

Eventually we are going to assume every video we see is AI, unless something is put into place to show that's otherwise.

I use stock photo and video for my line of work quite a lot and the stock libraries have to say if it’s AI generated or not. And I have to manually turn the filter results for AI images off every time otherwise they would be included, some still get through as they’re not tagged as AI when they obviously are!

Slow day at work so had a bit of a play with ChatGPT telling it to read the covid thread (just because it's the longest) then asked it to see if it recognised any of the posters. It immediately responded with "Yeah, you're The Psychedelic Socialist.".

So long internet anonymity I guess...
Is the Covid thread behind the pay wall?

Ive not a clue how to check but ive always wondered if it could ever get behind a paywall!

Like I said, slow day, so ChatGPT helped me write a Python script that logs on to the site, brings up each page in turn, then outputs the data to a JSON file. Once I had the JSON file locally I could upload it and ask for it to be analysed.

You can also post directly the url to the thread and it will analyse it I think

Not for that thread as it's hidden by the login. Plus it would probably fall over due the size of the thread. The first scrape I did was just the HTML of all the pages glued together and it told me to f**k off. It only accepted it once it had been cleaned up as a JSON file.
Ah I see yeah makes sense!

It’s not like I have an expectation of privacy here or anything, it’s a public forum after all, but stuff which is in the members area should be hidden from Google bots etc so giving it to ChatGPT may not be in the spirit of the thing? I doubt they’re going to get much value out of using that thread to train their models but you know it’s going to be fed in there somehow……

But what chatGPT already spits out is worrying enough, given people’s lack of critical thinking skills, what if it spits out a load of old bobbins?

”The ClioSport user known as "The Psychedelic Socialist" has not publicly shared detailed opinions about COVID-19 on the ClioSport.net forum. However, their forum activity suggests a balanced approach to the pandemic. For instance, in a discussion about the ClioSport Festival 2024, they inquired about passenger wristbands, indicating an interest in participating in events as restrictions allowed .(cliosport.net)

While they haven't explicitly commented on COVID-19, their engagement in community events during the pandemic implies a cautious optimism and a desire to return to normal activities when safe to do so.

If you're interested in their views on other topics or need information on specific aspects of their forum contributions, feel free to ask!”

I've done it under a Temporary Chat which (allegedly) means no data is preserved or used for training.

I don't want to ask but will it give you information on specific user accounts?

Kinda 😂

What can you tell me about the cliosport.net user mace?

On ClioSport.net, the user known as "mace" is a well-known and active member, recognized for his distinctive and often humorous approach to welcoming new users. His introductions are characterized by playful and sometimes cheeky remarks, which have become a signature style that many forum members anticipate and enjoy.

For example, in a thread welcoming a new member named Tash, mace responded with a playful rhyme:

"Welcome along Tash,
I'll give some poetry a bash.
You've not been her long,
no time to prepare a song,
Your new car looks superb,
Good luck with the wheel refurb." (cliosport.net)
This lighthearted and informal tone has made his posts memorable within the community. Despite the playful nature of his posts, mace is also known for his helpfulness and willingness to assist fellow members with advice and information. His contributions often blend humor with genuine support, making him a distinctive and valued member of the ClioSport.net community.

While his posts are generally well-received, some members have humorously commented on his unique style, noting that it's something to look forward to when joining the forum. For instance, one member remarked, "The only great thing for you to look forward to is Mace arriving." (cliosport.net)

Overall, mace's presence on ClioSport.net adds a touch of personality and warmth to the forum, blending humor with helpfulness in a way that resonates with many members.”

If you're asking it anything about users through the interface it'll only have access to the limited posting that shows without a user account. It's missing all the horror from General Chat....

Give it something really meaty like the Covid or Trump thread though and you can get it to pull out all kinds of insights...

Yeah this is what the chaptgbt app said about me lol

Summary of “seb”:

  • Expertise: Hands-on with performance mods, car builds, and hybrid engine tuning.
  • Community contribution: Shared knowledge freely, from technical help to event organization and charity involvement.

I'm far from techy when it comes to actual knowledge, but I'd like to think I'm a quick learner so have been playing around with this for a while now.

Over the last few weeks I've come under a little bit of pressure to ensure everything in my department meets our newest ISO accreditation which is being audited end of this month. No issue in theory, although being told about it when the deadline is just over 2 weeks away instead of when it all started 6 or so months ago, well that's annoying. Anyway, ChatGPT to the rescue!

I'm a bit tight and don't like to pay for anything when there's a free option, so I've utilised my free daily allowances across the different AI models and have run around 80 different documents through it in order to check for legal compliance and also just to polish them up a little. Took a bit of practice with the prompts, but after the first few attempts I was pretty happy.

GAMECHANGER. I've had to use a few of the "new" forms already and aside from the improved aesthetics, I've actually received some positive comments on the data within them. Obviously I took full credit for the work
