I don't know him but Jon Foz is well know on this forum and I have never heard anything to suggest he is a scammer, he has sold lots of seat subframes.

If you want the product I would suggest you do a bank transfer as requested.
Yea seems like his well known. Im new so just taking extra precussion.
But weird that he wrote "order outside of the UK is only bank transfer" scream scam especially for first timers like me.

Its a two way street. Often people will buy something via Paypal and then make a false claim stating that the parts did not arrive, or the box was empty. Paypal then defend the buyer who gets a refund and the seller loses out.

I'm sure other members who have bought from Jon Foz will post tomorrow (its later here) and hopefully put your mind to rest. Ultimately though its the sellers choice whether to sell something and how to receive payment.

Good luck.

Fair play for exercising caution, I can’t blame you but he is totally legit.

I got stung posting internationally after payment via PayPal. The tracking with the Royal Mail service I used was a bit random once it left the uk so PayPal paid straight out to buyer. It was only 50 quid or so, but now anything international either goes via eBay’s GSP where I post to their distribution centre and they send/track internationally or it’s bank transfer. As a seller, it’s not worth the risk/hassle of using PayPal internationally.

Plus at least if I get scammed in the UK it’s not far to go to drive a car through someone’s living room window as revenge.

Sorry - I’m so confused.

You’re specifically looking for ‘Jon Fozz subframes’ who are sold by Jon Fozz himself. And you won’t pay by bank transfer in case it’s a scam?

Am I reading this right or have I missed something glaringly obvious?

Paypal always side with the buyer in these cases so assume he's been burned before.

if i was him id also be getting red flags with someone trying to buy something and have it posted to a country where the car wasn't ever available?

Yes, im not paying thru bank to bank. I am new, so i am not familiar here yet. Most def will do business w the him in future. For now, ill painfully wait for 3-5 weeks for other vendors to stock.

Thank you

I got sent a set of CS frames + Clio2 adapters to Australia late 2021 from Jon.
Used PayPal back then. Since bank transfer didn't work. It was transacted as 'friends and family' so I needed to pay the fees involved.
After looking into it. The reason the bank method didn't work was because our banks don't allow international transfers unless you open a commercial account. I assume this is to protect against scams etc.

As others have said. Jon is 100% legit and genuine bloke.

But if anyone here selling a recaro cs frame. I will def pay for a pair of those, paypal ready.
You’re in America. Nobody will accept PayPal from you I’m afraid.
Far too easy for you to claim they didn’t arrive and the seller then loses the money AND the product.

This 💯 it’s not like you’d need the hassle and risk when there are literally thousands of Clio owners over here. I wouldn’t pay by PPG or bank transfer here in the UK, but I’m far less likely to accept it as a seller for transactions abroad. f**k that. Suspect you’re going to find it hard to buy parts from small Uk businesses or private individuals

Most people from the UK won't bother sending that thing in the UK, and you want someone to send it over to the states ? All the hasle and with the prospect not to see a penny?

Thanks for all the kind words on this post.

Just to add, this guy asked me to supply my product after obviously doing his research,I haven’t tried to sell anything to him 🙌

My reasons for bank transfer for orders outside of the UK is that if customs stop my parcel then the buyer often reports this to PayPal which leads to a refund and me not receiving the goods back.

As a small,’one man band’ business, this has made me take the bank transfer option.

In all honesty though,it’s only ever Portugal that had major problems with customs.

Jon
