Temperature gauge showing half way when I turn the ignition on, cold engine

Hi all I need your help!. My temperature gauge is reading half way when I turn the ignition on, the engine is cold! Things I’ve tried.

New genuine temperature sensor, I’ve tried 3 different sets of dials & still the same. Thought it mite be an earth fault so ive spliced into the loom & added a permanent earth onto the gearbox & still the same. I’m running out of ideas 🤣 anyone had this before??

Check the wiring from coolant temp sensor to ecu to see if its shorted out or bad connection. Assuming new sensor is good, can only be that or ecu as the data is sent to the dash via canbus.

Also what does live data says on the obd.
