Brembo upgrade worth it?

In the final stages of the turbo conversion being finished. Are the standard 172 cup brakes good enough for track days or is it worth converting to the 197 brembos while I’m shovelling money into the car. Cars currently brembo discs with PBS track pads.

Best to spend the money on better pads for the standard calipers.

For what it's worth, I hated the PBS Prorace pads on track and that's without turbo! Much prefer Ferodo DS1.11 or Winmax W6.

I would just see how you get on with the extra power and the PBS pads and then upgrade the pads if you need to.

Only fannies use the standard brakes 👀

Wilwood Midilite is also another option worth looking at.

Mate has them on his Cup and they're decent.

Pads are a lot cheaper than Brembo and probably easier to change, not that it's difficult on Brembo.

I could never get on with the standard callipers. Brembo all the way with either DS1.11 or RC5+

I opted for Brembo over Wilwood for a larger pad area. But the Wilwood being smaller gives you more wheel clearance.

What spacers did you have to run to clear the wheels? Got 2118’s on mine with et43

I believe im running 20mm spacers with these.

Callipers need to get machined down slightly also.

No idea what is needed for the 2118s though, but i know its possible.
