Ph1 172 hazards only work when ignition on and indicator stalk is turned left or right

Hi all having some troubles with my 172 ph1

The hazards only work if I have the car running or ignition switched on and the indicator stalk turned left or right

Any ideas

Have you replaced the switch yet ?
9times out of 10 it’s the switch .
Switch fails and doesn’t send powers at correct times ect , hence playing up.
If a new switch has been fitted then poss the wiring will need checking up to the UCH .
