My Clio 3 1.6L wouldn't start after coming back from holiday. The batter turned out to be dead, but after trying with a battery booster it still wouldn't start. (no cranking, nothing) The engine fan would also turn on automotically when tunring on ignition with the key.
After inspecting I found that there was water inside my fuse / relay box in the engine bay, this had damaged it and was causing shorts. I replaced it with a second hand one I could get somewhere (PP T30 M10). I am not 100 percent positive that this is a working unit, but I would assume so.
The car still won't start however, I have checked all the fuses and relay's and they all seem to be working fine. When turning on ignition the radio does turn on, but the dashboard lights don't. The radio does turn off when I try to push the key further (which would normally start the engine) and turns back on when I let go. It still doesn't crank and doesn't appear to have any ignition.
In the relay box I have found the ignition relay, the relay itself I have tested and works but the relay doesn't get 12V on the switching pin when the ignition turns on.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
