have a look on volvo-480-europe.org. drop this engine in a 5 and call haz at nocturnal developments.it goes straight in and pretty easy to get 200bhp+.just a remapped ecu that costs £80 off rpreun will give u 170bhp.still be a reliable car aswell.

tbh the conversion is a rather large task.. its took me a fair few months and its running but giving me a hell of alot of problems. advice i can give is start with a 1.8 rsi and your life will be alot easier.my first attempt was into a 1.4 and it was alot harder.take your time with the wiring...

was the mechanic who carryed out the conversion anythink to do with modifying? i mean is he just a general machanic who wouldn't think twice about swapping things over like uprated fuel pumps etc? maybe its wiring related? im sure bb would have had to make up some wiring for management etc..

i'd say the person who did the conversion for you has messed up mate.what management is used on the conversion? did the person who carried out the conversion into your williams take everythink from your old car?? fuel pump,etc.i would say its definently due to the conversion if the car was...

your a legend mate!!! the switch is faulty.tryed a mates switch and up it went..all i have to do now is go to a scrap yard and try find a switch.thanks alot mate.

i am getting a slight sound when pressing for the window to go down but not when i press it to go up... maybe its the switch.. i'll have a check.

well i have the door card off and can't get any movement in the window...ive checked all fuses under glovebox is there any more around the car.thanks mate

sorry mate i ment the windows stuck open.ive took the speaker pod out and attempted to lift the window while operating the switch and no luck. no movement at all...got the door card off now.... ill report back with my findings lol thanx

the electric window on the drivers side on my mk1 rsi has stuck closed.. seems to be no effort been made bye the mechanism at all.any ideas how i can lift the window back up or what the problem will be.the window is all the way down to the bottom.thanx

Have a look on www.volvo-480-europe.org maybe you'll have more luck using a volvo 480 gearbox. theres a 480 with a t3 turbo and a supercharger combined, still using the volvo box and it's a straight swap for the rsi box.just need to put the volvo clocks in there or a pair of renault 5 clocks to...
