did u drive it hard aswell. i'm not sure if that can cause the problem or not. maybe if u drive it normally it won't happen. both times it happend to me i wiz caning it haha

i just had my box in my cup replaced due to sum fault with the diff circlip. renault themselves did it. very dear lol.

yeah i found out today there was a fault in the box. new box and clutch job haha. i was nearly sik when i got the price. u can just imagine haha

yeah ur better with a warrenty. turns out my problems have bn down to a fault in the gearbox. i'm havin the box and clutch replaced by renault. at the lovely cost of 1700. hopefully now i can enjoy my car with everything fixed

i bought a 172 cup a few months ago. its the worst car i've ever owned. and i've owned bad cars. cav gsi's etc. diff circlip keeps popping out every time i drive it a bit hard, gear selector needed replacing theres sum sort of grindin noise under hard accelerion in 1st and 2nd theres a knockin...

i had the same problem with the circlip on my 172. a new spacer went in behind it and it seems to be fine just now but i've heard they pop out all the time once it does it once so i'm just waiting for it. i've booked mine into a renault garage to have it fixed properly

i drive 36miles to work every day then back again. at worst i'll use a quarter tank. heavy foot tho.

anyone had any problems with the diff circlip poppin out on the 172's. heard its a problem.
