If it’s anything like my Megane one don’t bother refitting it, fit a new one or else it’ll leak (no matter how much sealant you use).

I’d be going to a different specialist…! 55k is baby miles. Find the issue, fix the issue and keep it! I’ve changed my gearbox oil but for the life of me I can’t remember where the fill plug is but you will need a length of hose and a funnel to do it.
