Finally got a few hours on it today, got to start opening packets of new things! Trying to get interior back together so i have a bit more room in the workshop!
Cleaned another headliner/new handles etc. Trims/belts in. Tailgate built up.
Started building doors up but called it a day 😅
It has begun....fitting nice new things 😅
Thanks to Scott at Scottglaze Perth for getting genuine front and rear glass and fitting... And helping fit the trophy spoiler...have held off on sides at the mo to see if i can source better used ones or new.
I sell reproduction ones of these for the ph1 172, Aswell as bumper insert stickers.
Can be found on Facebook at Renomotive. Or message here 👍
Cheers @Paul172sport
RIP X283 BDB
Sent it a little to hard this afternoon and a rod appears to have exited the block. Unsure on the cause but will get in about it at some point when its getting stripped 😅 It was fun whilst it lasted 💪
It was Y372 NBU,
Went to ireland and got VJZ 7135
Returned here on that plate for a few years then Matt got it put back to a UK plate...But dvla cant assign the original Reg back to the car, So got an age related plate issued (i'm unsure what that one was) Then he stuck on the private plate it...
Thats Matt Bishop's. Not sure of his user name on here. This was the Irish reg one that I also owned a few years back, The V5 change might be when he got the irish reg 'VJZ' swapped back to a UK plate.
Cheers for the positive feedback! I'm looking forward to getting it back and starting to build it. Need to get the Flamer track car out the way first so been sticking some hours into that! On the plus side most parts are new/refurbished now so hopefully the build process on the sunflower wont be...
Yeah it would bring a tear to a glass eye 🥲
It is an incredible job 😅 I was also quite surprised they stripped the handles, But its the detail i'm aiming for with the build so atleast they were on the same page 😎
Fitted these seats to my mates Flamer Ph1. Recaro Trendlines retrimmed with OE material, 6 sets of seat covers to get enough usable material for them! They look ace. Could well be a worlds first?
Also fitted a dark blue flocked dash, Pics make it look bright! but its very dark in person And...
@Daniel i remember back in 2015 when mine was just going to get a quick tidy up for the summer 😅 the underside sure would look nice colourcoded 👀😆
Look forward to seeing how this goes though, Loves a ph1.
@Ant1 sounds like i may be able to take early retirement afterall!
Still had the spit from the last time i had this great ideal. What could possibly go wrong? 🤔
Id go as far as saying its the worst one i've ever came across in recent years....so might as well fix it 🙄
One side is nearly complete, Just have to trim the sill section and get it in. This might be...
Turns out, After removing all the structural underseal, All they years of it being a winter car have done it no favours.... 🤢
Its ok...I have an idea 🤔
Thought since i was on my yearly visit to .net I'd update this thread a bit...to try keep the flame alive 🙈 we had a fun year getting out a few times when possible.
As track season was drawing to an end i decided to buy it some new running gear and attend to a few 'small' rust patches....
Heres...
Hi guys! Sticking with the 1 update a year theme here....however, 2022 should see Many, Many updates!
Yep, Its taken 3 bodyshops, 2 paintjobs and just over 2 years since it left the workshop.....BUT
ITS FINALLY PAINTED 😬
And I must say, It looks incredible. Foz really have went over and above...
Mad! Yeah the sunroof is now sealed shut with ct1 as it was constantly leaking. The car is so origional and pretty clean but its soooo rusty.
Was this sunroof on it from 'new'? 🤣
I'll try mind give you a message back later on fb! 🙈
Bought this rusty one in recently, This years winter runner, Shame as its pretty cool but sills are as good as gone! Structural underseal i think they call it.
