Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Help required, I am close to getting a set of Turinis, I am usually a stickler for keeping a car standard looking (OEM) However I have seen these caps for Turnins which I am tempted to go for over the standard Renault Diamond, if I go for these then I will also be tempted to debadge the boot...

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

The bungs are potentially for the holes where the head light washers go, just want to see what it looks like, going to ask body shop to spray them along with the other bits. I have a feeling that it will look s**t but thought I would give it a try.

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

haha yeah rather random, no as they came with another large parcel I had to sign for, but yeah suppose they could have fit through the letter box (just). I work from home so always in when parcels arrive :)

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Spacers have arrived, so I can do away with that god awful scrubbing sound: You can also see in the picture the rubber bungs that I am intending on having sprayed. Also got new engine cover bolts to replace the old ones and new slam panel bolts to smarten things up:

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Following suit with @dann2707 and just bought the 10mm rear stub axle spacer kit as I cannot face the odd scrub every now and again. http://www.pure-motorsport.co.uk/details.php?itemid=263 I will there for have in a week or two 16mm spacers for sale if anyone is interested in them...

    BREMBO's Black - Ph1 172

Yeah I bet, I have an FRP which is my pride and joy: I got the Clio 182 for the other half but has turned into another project for me. I have promised myself a Mk2 Clio V6 in my life time, but at the rate the prices are increasing I might have to re-think that.

    BREMBO's Black - Ph1 172

Would be surprised if it was the G101 but yeah bet that was annoying. Lick of paint see them right. Forgot to say love the V6, looks to be a nice example also.

    BREMBO's Black - Ph1 172

Clean, very clean example. I would look at removing the door rubbers give them a good clean in the bath with warm soapy water then treat with your product an refit, come up so nice, I did this with my FRP ones and worked really well. I will be doing it with Clio ones soon as well.

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

If you are referring to these ones then yes I have replaced them all apart from the two on the drivers side front wheel arch as they where stuck solid, will get them shifted at some point. Its the little things like this that to me make the biggest changes  If it is these that you are...

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

05/12/14 Car through the MOT now that the tyres have been replaced and the rear pads, no advisories. Fitted the wind deflectors: Before: After: Before: After: Other side: Not sure about them at the moment, but dont think they look to bad.

Thanks mate, what Mk Civic please?

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Had a thought about the front washer jets for the head lights, I am going to trial fit these black rubber grommets to see what it looks like, I am also going to get a pair sprayed to see if I can get them in without the paint cracking as I think it might look better than using the OEM covers...

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Thanks mate, yeah getting to how I pictured it when I started the work. This is the website link you need to use: http://www.fancyplates.com/constructor.html Select Fancy plates, enter reg plate, then remove border, set text to UK standard, then go to step 2 You should see that on the second...

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

04/12/14 Forgot I purchased these, so little early xmas present: Washer blanking plates have arrived also: and finally the tyres are here so will be fitting these tonight and getting the tracking sorted

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Yeah thats correct mate, so I am sure that with the 15mm as well as the 16mm it would also rub on the rear with standard sized tyres and standard 182 wheels when on cook sport springs. So I would suggest either 10mm hub centric spacers on the rear of the bolt on option to ensure no scrubbing...

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Yeah must be the tyre size thats made the difference. In his case perhaps he only went out in the car on his own, or perhaps had the interior stripped. Either way not to worry an easy fix. An Excellent idea, @LeeRS if you haven't bought the 15mm / 16mm spacers yet do you want to buy mine? off...

02/12/14 Sorted the LED side light issue, as you can see the on the below picture previously overly blue one on the right and the new 5k one on the left: Photo of both side lights and normal beam, can see no colour difference:

Just literally fitted these and the colour temperature is as close to the xenons as you will get  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251526329725?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT This is the registration plate one you want -...

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

By the way mate do note that I am running cooksport springs, I reckon you wouldn't get rubbing at all with my spacer setup if you had standard shocks and springs.
  24. williamsclio1

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

The purchasing of the tyres might have set back the spraying of the spoiler mind you for this month :/
  25. williamsclio1

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Yeah hate it rubbing, only went for it on the basis that I was told it wouldn't. Never mind as I have mentioned in my case I will be having new wheels on soon enough.
  26. williamsclio1

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

If you have 2 people in with luggage you might notice the scraping, any more weight than that and put it this way you won't be booting it, if its just two people then I haven't noticed it rubbing. I would perhaps look at 15mm spacers on the rear instead of 16mm, not that it will make much...

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Car went in for MOT today and failed on rear tyres as un even wear on the inside edge, replacing with a set of these  Also rear pads low so had a new set put on.

Clio 182 - Refurbishment and Modifications

Yeah I didn't really get chance to look at that but yeah if the metal washer is visible then I will certainly look at having it filled before spraying, having said that with mine being silver it probably wouldn't stand out to much, I think I might have a trial fitment before I send it off for...
