i feel like i'm losing braincells today, i forget some of the younger generation have never worked with On-prem security permissions Naming a Security group totally sets the permissions to deny 🤦‍♂️ "I named the group Deny so they know they don't have access to the folder" 🤦‍♂️

https://m365maps.com/ This site is a saviour for it. I've learnt to work on the basis of sub 300 you get business premium, over 300 E3. At least it's less confusing than the on-prem licencing

one convenience is the licensing is all under one vendor, thankfully still have a couple of years to reevaluate for the next refresh cycle, the big problem now will be all the big players are either subscription or making a big push to public cloud. reliable tech, just thinking of parallel...

Given the budget/opportunity I'd have NetApp/Purestorage or the likes, unfortunately budget limitations push to the cheaper option as it has a much higher ROI off the initial investment. on a Pure X20 a few years ago i was seeing on average 5:1 and still hitting decent response time...

HCI is great, need space? just chuck more cheap hardware to tie you over. with HCI we're squeezing 40 x 3.1G cores 1.2Tb of ram and...

Public cloud for 90% of business is tragic, data egress, we'll charge extra for that, cpu pinned at 100% because a junior made a bad config update, charge for that. What with the state of Broadcom/VMware mess at the moment, moving back to on prem or at least private cloud may be the move over...
