Lol, im so used to you taking pics mate, i didnt even see you take this, grat snap!
To someone whos car and opinion i respect greatly, i genuinely appreciate the kind words.
Cracking morning out as always, with some great company. Love seeing the cars well bug spattered and thick with brake...
Can only go off what I’ve been told so far mate. Perhaps I’ll give MS Motorsport a call and see if I can get a set in the pipeline. Thanks for the heads up. I’ve always liked them, they’re a beautiful wheel and Actually quite similar in spoke design to the wheels on my Cayman.
Fun fact -...
Agree on Braid being good guys in the UK. Spoke with Richard and Jonny today. Nick is the main guy for the Clio fitments so they prefer me to go through him. Nicks away till the 1st September so will probably give him a bell then.
ATS main agent in the UK is Alex @ AP Motorsport who I’ve been...
So the wheels hunt continues, and have had the news this morning that the ATS DTC are 100% not available. ATS have closed their motorsport dept and as the wheels are made to order, stocks are not kept. My only chance for a set is now a used set.
One of my favourite parts of the 2118s is they...
Good mate of mine has an ESS tuned 997 Turbo which is about 750 at the wheels. He’s always at these, his name is Tom, cars black with orange stripes.
His best run last year was 211mph I think.
Im still yet to do a Vmax day, but they look great fun. 🙂
Cheers chaps. This was the finish I was after but really didn’t want to cut up either the Orbisoud or my BTM to achieve it.
I have to say I’m really pleased with its fit, finish and sound. I think it sounds as purposeful as it looks. The Orbisoud was the best sounding Clio pipe I’d heard and I...
I’ve had the privilege of watching this car and it’s details come together over the coming weeks and the finished result is nothing short of outstanding.
The OEM plaques really set it off as if it had come from the factory with the PPs fitted.
These are the details so few people are prepared...
The most important bit everyone wants to know though. How does it sound?
Once home I adjusted the tips back to the bumper line. I just love how purposeful it looks now. 🙂
So, finally after a few weeks wait, my new exhaust system arrived. Yes I weighed up my options and seriously considered going back to Matt at Simpson’s. However when I started to really dive into it, I was looking at the thick end of £1300
After numerous conversations and videos sent by some...
Ah, not a melted piston then, kinda expands on the cal issue somewhat. I was going off the basis of a melted piston.
Are there any signs of heat on the remnants of the piston or of the cylinder walls?
Without analysing the components it’s tough to say, what the failure mode was. Pistons...
Same, only bought it as it had 8k miles on it and i knew the owner and its history. It was basically a brand new car in a rare colour.
It looks good in perfect sunshine. But the other 362 days a year it looks like dirty rusty water :D
You have increased the CR with the 197 pistons which would have made it more fuel/timing sensitive. If it was previously mapped right on the limits of PI then you will have crossed that line with the increase in compression. But surely they would have explained this to you when it was there?
You...
Sounds like its been subjected to some pretty heavy pre-ignition, which as suspected is more than likely a cal issue. If that be the previous cal or the ktec cal, who knows, but pistons dont melt due to a mechanical failure. Theyre a result, not a cause.
I too would be interested to see the...
99.9% that’s a cal issue.
Generally a fresh build will fail within 20 minutes of its due to a build error in my experience.
Maybe 25 min if you really babied it.
Sorry to hear about your agro, hope you get it sorted.
