Pedal switch. Relatively cheap and easy to replace. ANy of the motor factors will do them, Motex, EU & MPD to name but a few locally :)

I was worried about what effect the cleaner might do as its got plastic "chrome" on half the wheel and a glossy knob (oo'err!)

Where is the shaking coming from exactly? The steering wheel or through the floor/seat? The latter would indicate a possible out of shape tyre/out of balance wheel on the rear, the former could be the same but on the front!
