I would try another alternator as it sounds like a bad diode, If you want a bit of self diagnosis remove the cables from the back of the alt and see if cures the parasitic drain.
Arcan alloy jack from costco @£70 were awesome but don't seem to be available anymore,
So I'd go with the Halfords advanced, the alloy are obviously lighter but the steel ones look like an old weber jack design which are top quality if they are.

£47k for a Civic is mental, did they keep the price quiet from the press so they went mental for it saying it'll be a giant killer, not knowing what it's opposition will be ?

These MQB platform cars really eat batteries if stood unused for a relatively short period of time ( like stood on a forecourt for sale for a month or two ) , my guess is the battery fully discharged and when you bought it they just gave it a good charge but unfortunately the smart charging on...
OBD Eleven has the ability to access the SFD ( locked diagnostics ) in all new VAG products,
It's only there as technically you could be driving down the road and someone could hack your car and do silly things like turn off the power steering or fire the ABS etc, so it more a safety feature...
My memory isn't that good it years since I had a Clio,
Get some string and run it around your desired route, cut it so the ends just meet and thats the length you want,
So if the string is 900mm you want a 6pk900 or 965mm a 6pk965 etc
