It's just normal paint. Be sure to prime it well! 3 primer coats, 2 or 3 colour and a few lacquer coats. As it's just inlet manifold, only heat it gets is general heat in the engine bay. Did a track day and it got very hot in the bay and paint looked perfect still

Looks much better with pipercross. Also key the alloy pipe lightly and use an etch primer and satin black it. I used crackle paint on mine and it looked s**t but I couldn't be arsed to change it! Smarten it right up all in black.

Fair play Rob that's lovely... Monaco and flamer are lovely colours on 172, the Monaco definitely looks smarter imo. Twin pipes looking perfect! One thing I never liked on 172 is the back end as it looked a bit pants with no exhaust considering its a 2.0... A little underwhelming. Silvers...

I think this thread definitely confirms that older hatches are infinitely cooler and better looking than their modern counterparts! Some of those are awesome. Now feel an urge to buy an old hatch, even though I wasn't fussed on the mk2. Lol
