Managed to get some NS2R's for the Cup in R16/195 fitment for about £350 delivered online. Bargain in my eyes and loved them at Brands.
Will try AR1s in the future if the budget allows.
It's been 6 months since I updated this!
The car was SORN up until the start of this month, whilst it has been given a few upgrades.
- Powerflex wishbones fitted
- Inner/outer bushes fitted to the front anti-roll bar
- brand new 280mm bracket/Brembo setup from PMS.
- NS2R's all-round - very...
Sounds great @MrBlonde
This is so close it would be rude not to attend. Count me in. Also got some friends who might tag along but they're not on here.
Sounds interesting!
I work as part of a small marketing team and although I am more multimedia designer than I am marketer, I do get involved increasingly with 'strategy' and I am responsible for handling our social media.
You are 100% correct that what's posted online should be more strategic...
Some of the 140's in here are amazing. I've aspired to own one for around 3-4 years now. The R26 has curbed the want a little, but it's still there. They seem like the ultimate daily. Prices seemed to have soared too recently, like everything else. Seems like it's hard to find a nice one sub 20K...
Audi S3 (8P) OEM - Crept past.
F-Type S V6 (380BHP) - Level.
OEM Yaris GR - Level.
Not all that impressive considering every other car was completely standard.
Haven't had a chance to really drive the Cup in about 3 months now. It's not as good as the Megane, but I can't bring myself to sell it at the moment.
It's got its charms and I do genuinely miss driving it. The plan is to sort suspension early 2022 with the view to take the Clio on track.

I was looking on there too but found the same. Then joined a few pages on Facebook and there seemed to be a fair few coming up for grabs. Couple of nice LY’s on there recently at around 7 or just under.
It was up for £8k. Strong but not ridiculous in the current climate.
Thanks mate. Was posted up for sale on the ‘Megane R26 Owners UK’ on Facebook and by chance I was the first to message the guy. Picked it up from Essex way.
So I think the Cup might be up for sale very soon. I've fallen in love with my new car. A Glacier White R26.
Spec:
FSH
50K miles from new
Black pack from factory
LUX pack including full leather/arm rest/keyless entry and auto lights.
Mapped to 250BHP/280lb-ft by Andy at Engine Dynamics...
No update on the car, other than it needs a drive shaft replaced as there's some play. Met up with @Kyle 86 to take a look at his new Megane over the weekend. Brilliant car. Will be attending the Caffeine and Machine meet on the 24th of July. Hope to see some of you there.
Sounds cool!
Hard to say without seeing photos, but 172 Cup Badges on the doors sometimes fall off and can be picked up on Renault Parts Direct. Cup splitter is an added bonus. Easy to spot apart from other splitters.
Probably worth refreshing the suspension with some OEM Cup dampers and...
The Cup has now been mapped by Andy at Engine Dynamics. Reliably told that it's a healthy engine, made great numbers at 243 bhp / 230 ft-lbs.
Video with graphs and dyno footage is in the works, but yesterday we had a little drive with a few mates. In a straight line, the Cup is bang on the same...
Exactly what Daniel has said. If you want it gone for good, pay to have it cut out and some new metal welded back in. Otherwise it will just keep coming back. I know this from first hand experience and mistakes
Either way, it's worth removing the rear door cards treating the inside...
It's really hard to say. If it were a standard totally OEM Cup I feel it would be worth £3-3.5k. I have an agreed value via insurance at £5k with the turbo, so likely around that price point I guess. Maybe more to the right buyer.
Averaged around 5-6k a year. For about 2-3 years it ran faultlessly. Then a few small problems here and there, but nothing terrible up until now. That's not the case here, but I totally get where you're coming from.
I used to have a MK8 St-Line daily through work, although that benefit has now ended. Thought I'd fix the Cup and give it a go for a while. Still in two minds about it all.
