    Yokohama UK Contact Number (AD08R)

I got my AD08 through Micheldever tyres, they spoke to yokohama for me. Might be worth a try.

    Alarm fuse

What car? The 1*2 alarm is not connected to the immobiliser at all. You can just remove it. There is a fuse in that box by the battery, I can't remember which one it is though.

    New engine running...however odd noise

I agree with chip, if it starts with light pressure. I had a new one go like that on a different car. Hopefully it is not the thrust bearing. The smoke steam might just be some moisture in there that will boil off fairly quickly, if it has been stood for a while. I don't think mine smokes from...

Just undo the pinch bolt and make sure you can get all the gears.

    New engine running...however odd noise

I'd establish whether it is just the selector that needs adjusting. Do you know if the engine is any good?

    New engine running...however odd noise

Was the flywheel rusty? Might go away after you use it for a bit. Smoke is normal, just from your oily hands probably, it will just be taking a few minutes to get hot enough to smoke. Clutch smoke has a distinctive smell different from oil.

    Cup MOT failed

Good news. I don't as I once locked up the rears with them on. Lots of people do keep them on without problems though.

    Clio Racing?

No afraid not. It has to be a 182 cup or 182 with cup packs. MSVT is power at the wheels BTW so as std you'd be more like 145 bhp/tonne. I wouldn't discount the others just on open modifications. Lots of people race in those series with basically std cars, obviously you won't win but you can...

    Cup MOT failed

In normal operation when you press the pedal the black lever moves down to reduce effort to the rears. If you get someone to press the pedal while you put your hand on the lever you will feel it move. If you fix it in the up position with cable ties you should get more rear effort.

    Cup MOT failed

I don't really understand, put a picture up.

    Cup MOT failed

Mine you can just turn by hand but not easily. Have you tried cable tieing the compensator up? If that doesn't affect things it is probably knackered. Could be lots of things though.

    Exhaust comparison

I have the ktec/janspeed on my 182 and it is barely louder than std when new, gets a little louder with age. No droning from mine. I got it second hand several years ago.

No knock sensor on Cup engine?

    My 172 cup has one.

    Lemforder track rods

Those rods you have look too short to fit any 1*2. The non cup ones are only about 20mm shorter. I'd try saying you bought them a week ago but lost the receipt, you'll probably get a credit note then. Google the part number on them.

    Clio Racing?

There is also a clio only series where the car is pretty much std, run by the 750 motor club if you happen to have a 182.
  17. mark123

    Cup MOT failed

They should show some effort. Try cable tieing the compensator valve up (search) and see how they perform.

Good result with the rebuild Pete. Nice torque spread. Bet you can't wait to get back out in it.

BIGASH/FF-Racing X85 Clio Cup Racer Project

Looking good James. Hope you sort the vibration. Does your dash really wobble that much or is it a camera effect?

    pagid discs from ECP.

I've had them on the race car the last couple of races and I can't tell the difference between them and brembo hc.

172 cup brake compensator valve - cleaning it out

It still has the arm and a return spring it is just not connected to the suspension beam. Try taking it off and cleaning it out with brake cleaner maybe - might be a bit harsh on the internals though. May be try pushing brake fluid through it backwards first.

Yoko AD08's vs Toyo R1-R's for road/wet track days.

lol It was good fun giving people rides around. I did some in car filming - all quite funny but I didn't really get permission so can't post it up. The autotest display was awesome. We looked at changing our holiday dates but it was going to cost and mess people about so, no mallory I'm afraid.

Yoko AD08's vs Toyo R1-R's for road/wet track days.

Finished off one of my AD08s today, giving autosolo passenger rides at the GoMotorsport live event at Silverstone today. They were on their last legs anyway so no surprise after 2 hours of abuse.

    Which Lambda Sensor?

Not necessarily. Mine is often on due to the knock sensor. You need to get the codes read.

sonny172cup "track car to race car project"

Re: sonny172cup "track racer project" They don't need welding (I explicitly asked the scrutineer who checked mine over) and they will never check them anyway. I expect the one by the handbrake would be fine even if they did check. I couldn't find a decent place in that area either so mine is...

    Wideband Sensor for ITB's

Does it matter if the wideband goes after the cat? I assume it is ok otherwise the AFR readings taken on a RR from the tailpipe would be wrong too?

Yoko AD08's vs Toyo R1-R's for road/wet track days.

R1Rs have 7mm and AD08 have 8mm. The tread blocks on the AD08 are angled to reduce the flexing where as on the R1R they're not. I've used AD08 without any over heating problems. I do have R1Rs for the wet but I've never used them. I'd certainly consider the RSRs next time I come to buy...

    Autotest/Autosolo geo/suspension/pressures.

Regarding low or high pressure both of those statements can be true so I would just try it.

    Autotest/Autosolo geo/suspension/pressures.

I've done them in my race car and in my road car. You will struggle to get rid of understeer as the corners are so slow and tight. But stiffening the rear will help. I ran 30 psi all round, if I found the tyres were getting rubbing on the side walls I would add a few more psi to them. I...

    225 injectors on a now N/A 172 over fuelling Q.

Paul at rs tuning will probably put the std map back on until you get a new charger and then switch back again for a small fee.
