    anyone removed power steering altogether

I've changed the rack for a DCI one, and mounted Volvo brackets, so I can't comment about the Cup setup or the loop. But check my thread for reference.

    anyone removed power steering altogether

I've driven it on track now, and I think it's pretty much the same as standard.

There was also a red flag in our session. Here's why. This corner is known for these type of accidents. Enter Scheivlak on youtube, and you will see a lot of these accidents. I figured it was better to keep it safe, and let go of the gas going uphill, instead of on top of the hill. This was...

I got the videos on youtube, and I won't post them all, but at the first one below you can obviously see that I'm not really using the brakes, because I haven't got them at that point, and I'm generally taking it very slow to learn the track and get feel with the car. In these videos I'm...

Below some of the pictures that my neighbour took. They mostly tell what's going on when the car is not on track, torqueing up the wheels, checking tyre pressure, checking oil level etc. I quite like them.

Today it was time to finally go to Zandvoort after the long winter break. It was my first time ever to this track, and was very excited about it. I was really curious how the car would perform with the mods done over the winter period. First loaded the car on the trailer, and packed the usual...

Green Track Cup - Back To Basics

How are you going to reach the fire extuingisher when you need it? Doesn't look convenient to me.

The BMW drama is still ongoing. The DSC module has been sent back to the garage the day before yesterday, so I expect a phone call from the garage today, hopefully with good news, as the company who did the rebuild work wasn't to sure. They said that the module had to be tested on the car. I...

If all goes well, I will be testing it the 10th of March.

    anyone removed power steering altogether

I've removed it as well, but I haven't tested it yet at the track. I have only driven it slow and say 300 metres, it didn't feel very heavy to me. It was a big weight saver though, something like 16 kg's.

Unfortunately not. Short after I had the BMW back from the garage, it decided to have another fault. This time it was the DSC system. I booked it in to the garage, to have the module rebuild/revisioned, since a new one is 2100 Euro's apparantly. It should be ready it time, but yesterday I got...

Scorpion rs192 to decat or not.

And for what reason? I can't imagine the airflow increase being much bigger than something like an induction setup.

    John’s Titanium 182 Track Project

Nice build. Do hou have any idea how much weight you have saved with the exhaust and windows? Also, you are not using any brakelights?

    Raceface's 182 Track Car

OZ Ultraleggera are the wheels you want for saving weight. They are 3,3 kg's lighter than my OZ F1's.

    BMW 130i

Mine doesn't come anywhere near that. I had to calculate from km's/l to mpg, using 1 gallon=3,785 litres, and 1 mile=1,6 km, but I do around 22/23,5 mpg.

    CMC Composites race splitter

I have to disagree, aero mods (when done right offcourse) do work. If you notice the difference of just a splitter, I don't know, but they most certainly have an effect. Go drive 100 km/h, and stick your hand out the window.

They mount to the subframe, so they will probably have function.

After all the work I've done to the exhaust, I'm still not really happy with it, mainly with how close it is to the rear axle. The exhaust needs to move forward a bit. This means I have to shorten the decat pipe, which means I can start all over again. For now I will see how it goes. If...

The everlasting ph1 ITB Build **GREEN-BUILD STARTS AT PAGE 100**

But even then. When you look at the lower barr joint beneath the B-pillar. How do you get acces to that? I mean, the cage doesn't go up anymore, it doesn't move from left to right, nor does it go forward. Or can you wiggle it about just enough to get the torch in between? Cage looks really good...

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

After the decat, the exhaust was rattling against the body somewhere quite badly. Didn't take long to find out where though. I'm not sure if it popped out because of me moving the exhaust with fabricating the link pipe, or that is has always rested on the piece of rubber that a previous owner...

I guess I will have to find out how I like it then. Although, I haven't got a clue what means, but I guess it's good right? :tongueclosed: The thing that's bugging me, is that I got 20 mins of total toe this afternoon, but at my previous measurements I got 8,1 mins of total toe. All I...

Not really worth an update, but I disconnected the speed sensor, so that I am not looking at my speed on track anymore, just the revs.

I did a recheck on my alignment, just to make sure. I did get some different numbers this time, being: Front left: -0,136 degrees, or 8,2 mins toe out. Front right: -0,212 degrees, or 12,7 mins toe out. I guess the difference is from inaccuracy, after all, I am measuring tenths of a millimetre...

    172 vs 182 Manifold

Even with the engine in place it's doable if you take your time. You have to lower the subframe though. I've combined it with replacing the steering rack for a DCI one, and with changing the ARB bushes. I also took out the manifold and cat in one piece.

I really like the BMW, I think mostly because it really is a nice allrounder. I use it as a sportscar when I want to, or just go from A to B, or I use it as a tow car. What I also like about the car is that the complete package is just how it should be. I have the M-package inside and out, so it...

    Project Lightweight, Trackday Clio 172

I'm aware of it, but all the parts needed for this winter project quickly added up, so I was reluctant to spend 45 Euro's (which is what they cost here) on one. Same goes for the alignment. To save some money, and to increase my skills 🙈, I wanted to have a go at doing my own alignment...
