The air filter won't fit there Dan due to the intercooler pipework, it will have to go under them pipes so will be to the right of the engine near/under the throttle body if you see what I mean.
Thanks Lewis, the install is very easy really esp if you still have air con as the charger takes the place of air con motor so you don't have top piss about with pas lines ect like mine.
I did look into doing the megane thing but just seemed a lot of messing around and this kit has been well...
Don't won't to push my luck with rr's at the moment seen's as it went bang on the rollers, let me get the car back and drive for a while and we will see, as you say it would be interesting to compare the two. Looks like it should be around 270 bhp and 250 ft/lbs from the readings before the car...
So did I at the time, changed the water pump and was still doing it and was taken to TDF to diagnose and fix it = f**ked dephaser.
Very much doubt I will put the car on the rollers.
If you remember at the last FMS day my car not sounding too clever due to a f**ked dephaser, TDF fixed it and and fitted a new cambelt. Apparently there are two different torque setting given for the crankshaft pulley, looks like mine was torqued to the lesser one. Ktec told me that the bolt was...
Thanks Dan, car will be at the FMS rr day, but I don;t think I dare put it on the rollers but will take you for a spin if you want. The supercharger brackets are a nice design, there is a bit of messing about moving the rad forward a bit in order to fit the charger induction pipe and air filter...
Power mate, plus not really going on track that much any more, it costs a fortune when you drive the car hard what with tyres, petrol, brake pads ect. Will probably do 1 or 2 track days a year now with the s/c kit and use the car mainly on the road. Plus I have always wanted to s/c a car and...
Thanks Mark, just want it back.
Are you going for one of the ktec ID kits, you should do they are a great bit of kit, esp if you get some 438's as well.
Not updated this for ages as I have been saving up to get a supercharger, well I have finally got one. I installed the kit with the help of a mate.
A few pics of the install.
Fitting the charger was a bit of a pain due to me haveing the cup alternator set up, so had to...
I fitted the charger, the cam belt slipped when the car was being mapped, I have been told it was due to the bottom pulley on the cam belt not being torqued to the correct level. The last people to touch the cam belt were TDF when they done the dephaser and belt change.
Hope they done yours up...
I think the only way I can look at this is with the money I saved on fitting the kit myself and If I had of had a meg keyway pulley fitted by a specialist as well I am only going to be a couple of hundred pounds down once the car has been repaired so not so bad, will put it down to bad luck and...
Just to make it clear I hold Ktec in no way responsible as they have done everything they can to help me out. I appreciate that these things can happened having owned many modified cars in the past and was just after peoples opinions as were I stood. Now that every one knows the full story they...
The exact picture is Tdf done the cambelt on 30/11/11, no work has been done until last week when I fitted the charger, the gen 90 supplied with kit was on a base map with a 4.5k limiter. I then drove the car the 190 miles to Ktec to have the car mapped, the failure happened at 6000 rpm on the...
