hi all,
Would appreciate any help on this one. The immobiliser on my 182 will not switch off. I have tried the ign on / off, doors locked / unlocked method but to no avail. Also tried this method with a starter pack on the battery. The red immobiliser light will stay illuminated and then the...
Hi,
we are fitting a new engine box and clutch tonight. In the valeo clutch kit there is a small part, not the release bearing, that looks like it needs to be pushed into the flywheel. It is not very thick, is it required? Help please!
Matt
Gents,
i very quickly (I.e., this morning) need to get hold of a set of longer rear bolts to run some 10mm spacers and camber and toe shims. Could anybody help out with:
1. Spec of bolts required?
2. A place on tinted net that sells them?
cheers in advance!
Matt
450 is a good deal. Just bought a dephasher and belt kit from Adam on here for c.200 quid. Took 3hours to fit last night, 6hours labour is excessive in my opinion
Gents,
The gearbox on my 182 started to show signs of 3rd gear synchro wear. I got hold of a knackered 182 box that a local transmission company rebuilt for me. All synchros were replaced in the knackered box a long with 5th gear. When I went to collect it, I was told that they had dropped it...
Thanks for the responses. Could anybody post up an exploded diagram of all the relevant bits? Pretty sure I will have binned the washer...
Thanks, Matt
A friend of mine fitted them and I know he looked up the torque settings so they will be correct.
What is this washer you speak of?! Didn't notice anything in the box for the discs...
...well that's what it feels like at the mo! Bought some cheap rear discs with bearings already pressed in. Bad idea, the bearing lasted two hours on track. Who ever coined the phrase 'buy cheap, buy twice' was spot on.
So after reading a few threads on here I took myself to Renault to buy a...
As above, I was struggling a bit this weekend with the back end becoming light under heavy braking. Is this common? Any easy fixes? I have AST suspension and a white line ARB.

The car was great fun at Dony, see links below for some pictures - how do I embed pictures?!

In other news I've had the rear coilover units refurbished as I was having problems with damping on one of them, and at the same...
brembo hcs and ds2500 are very very good IMO. Recently did a track day at Donington and this set up, combined with braided lines and ATE superblue fluid, was consistently good all day long with not a smidgen of fade.
G172 is your man for the discs - something ridiculously cheap like 45quid...
cheers for the replies guys. not too fussed if it is only tracking that needs doing but will be PISSED if it affects camber and castor as I explicitly asked the garage to check everything was ok before they did the set up, and they clearly didn't!!
doh, I didn't realise there was more than one type! This is what I've ordered: http://www.northwestperformance.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=197&osCsid=dli1ddrdchc2jr09ijhsdchi35
I have been told the O/S ball joint on my clio is shagged. I have ordered a couple of new ones from NWP and have read that I will need to get the tracking checked once I've fitted them. Quick question, will I also need to get the geometry checked after changing them? Here's hoping no as I've...
i did my first track day in my clio on monday with the following spec:
- high carbon front discs
- DS2500 front pads
- standard rear discs and pads
- braided lines
- ATE superblue fluid
The braking was phenomenal! I really struggle to see why you need more braking power than that unless you...
Better airflow into the engine and therefore the potential for more power. I've never had it on a rolling road though so not sure what the gains are, negligible at best on their own I'd say
It has taken longer than I wanted to progress the car due to work commitments but it is really coming together now. Since my last update I have:
1. Fitted AST suspension all round and had the geometry set up at wheels in motion in Chesham, which has made a huge difference to the handling;
2...
Yo,
Changed the gearbox oil today and while I was under there I noticed that the boot which is next to the gear linkage has split. Is this common? Is it a big deal? Didn't appear rusty.
Thanks for the replies
Grrr...
I have been trying to fit my new OMP boss and steering wheel this afternoon but I'm struggling. The hole in the boss is too small for one of the wires to get through. Has anybody else experienced this? Any easy fixes before I wang it back in the post to Kam Racing?!
Cheers,
Matt
