Because everytime I've used any of the other cheaper brands other than OEM, the ball joints or bushings go within a year, but never had that with lemforder who also are an OEM manufacturer for some cars.
Had to fit a Moog arm from eurocarparts on my ford Kuga as it was all I could get at the...
Exact same setup as most of CV joints then.
God knows where the rhumors that they aren't rebuildable came from. Unless its just the fact the a new joint is hard to come by.
I replaced the outer CV on my civic with a shaftec CV joint, same method as above with the circlip and it's still going...
Lol, I had the subframe half way down and the inners were still a pain in the arse.
I suppose going in a second time now I know where to position the clamps and mole grips etc it would be much easier.
For the sake of 50 quid I'd just stick a new shaft on it from the likes of J&r
I didn't know that the joints weren't serviceable to be honest, but if that is the case then that sort of explains why nowhere seems to sell the joints on their own for the 182
I've started using turtle Wax seal n shine and recently their new ceramic spray sealent.
I don't think I'll ever go back to a wax, this looks just as good and the durability is amazing, still beads after months.
Laquer will just chip off and look naff, tried that before.
Just did mine with the meguoars 2 step kit and it came with a spray on sealent, they look awesome.
Claims 12 months on the bottle
Another reason I don't use garages lol.
Take the wheel and hub nut off and see if the spacer which should sit behind the bearing is missing and check if the bearing has fell to bits.
Of all the mods I did to my 172, exhaust, polybush, rack mounts, sportlines etc, looking back,if I was to own one again on a limited budget I would get a PMS shifter.
Not of of other mods made a great deal of difference, but the shift feel And throw was dog s**t
The rack could be damaged.
If your original problem was cured by turning the wheel has hard as possible causing a broken coil spring and a loud crack, then perhaps it wasn't the steering lock, but something jamming the suspension?
Is there any play in the rack? If you move the steering wheel...
Lol I second that.
I tried meguiars ultimate compound with a das 6 pro on my Monaco, it took forever to get any form of correction the paint was that tough
Crazy. The buyer could have spent 2k on a shed and made it mint for way less than 8k.
Somebody with clearly money to blow, he probably owns serveral other expensive cars and price did not really matter.
