Great write-up. Didn't even realise you had a thread on here.
Out of interest how did you find your first RenaultSport? You're one of the few who went from a non sport and didn't go for a sport immediately after. Was it a let down or not?
The answer to your question is that a remap will most definitely fix the cold running issues. The gearbox is still clunky until warm though but that's the same with most cars.
If you have the money and want a megane though, get a megane. No point trying to find excuses to get one if you want...
For the price of engines these days, chuck a known one in that's likely to have had belts done properly, run it until it dies, then throw another one in. If you're handy enough to swap an engine out you might as well do it that way
Great write up. GP looks extremely nice. I know how you feel about letting your 197 go too cheap though. I've just done the same to get a nice quick and easy sale.
On my 197 I had just a non resonated exhaust and at that point of flat spot the car would misfire. Turns out if your timing isn't spot on it makes the flat spot even more exaggerated.
My advice is get it mapped. I took mine to RS Tuning and it was incredible afterwards.
Ignition does stay on.
Open the car, get in and touch nothing like the pedals etc. Key in and press and hold the start button for about 10-20 seconds and it'll go to proper ignition.
It's what you have to do when you're running diagnostics so it doesn't go off.
Great purchase. Can only echo what you say about the mk3 platform being a huge step up from the mk2. Superior in every single way.
The only thing I think that was lost is character. The mk2 felt very much like a small car that someone had shoe horned a big engine in for a giggle whereas the...
Ares build gives you the ability to do that if you're insisting on using a build. Also there's a whole thread for this e where you'll get more response and help.
Because if you're lazy and Hydro2 is too much like hard work, you can buy it ready diluted lol.
Bloody love the stuff me. The finish it leaves is so so slick. Even more so if you do decent prep
It's exactly that. You need to do a panel or two at a time and make sure you don't leave it sat an a panel for more than a minute at most. Also don't put it on in direct sun.
It's brilliant. Just make sure you wash it all off if you're not bothering drying it
A car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Seriously, from all the ones I've looked at yours is easily worth upwards of £7500.
The only way you'll see that price is to be firm and patient, the one I've got the guy had no one come and see it and it was up at £8200 at first and he...
Plug the belkin straight into a laptop or PC, give it an IP address that's not the same as your current router and set it to wireless access point mode or wireless gateway.
Then plug it into the
