i purposefully park miles away from anyone and everytime i return to my car i find someone parked right next to me.
sod off!! lol
park in a disabled spot for the win!! ;-)
front wheel drive is for gays! :rasp:
the v6 was made to be driven no left in the garage, dont worry about mileage, get on and enjoy the car.
i use mine as a daily drive and its no more expensive than the bmw i had previously.
i went through the same discission before i got my vee, i test drove both and i would say the r32 is an amazing car, very capable and an all rounder. if the 5 seats over 2 thing is important to you then get one hands down.
however, it doesnt sound anything like the vee and they are common as...
yeah mk1s are different to mk2 pressures, it says in the handbook, 1.4 bar in the front 2.1 at the back. check your running at 1.4 its much more stable up at the higher speeds
when i picked the car some muppet had pumped the front up to 2.2, it was like driving on ice!! even 50mph was hairy!
yeah mine does too, have to keep your wits about you when your at that kinda speed. keeping an eye on the front tire pressures helps it keep control.
i find its comfortable crusing at 70-75mph on the motorway so thats what i do.
haha, yep i pansy it down the motorway!! i had a scare with the police once so i never go silly speeds on motorways anymore.
round town i get about 16-20mpg usually.
i wake up every morning and im happy to go to work cos it means a drive in the vee!!
i dont think the petrol is that bad to be honest, its more than liveable. you get 35+ mpg on the motorway, if you drive it hard all the time you will not see a good return on the fuel, but you dont need to...
clio 172 mk1 0-100 = 17.65
min cooper s works gp 0-100 = 13.85
http://www.letstorquebhp.com/fwd.asp
its about 4 seconds, i was only going from memory before
id rather have the clio!! cheaper and more fun!
my ex had a cooper s and although it was quite a capable car, the understeer on it was awfull. maybe it was cos im used to rear wheel drive cars, but the bloody thing wouldnt go where i pointed it.
in a race to 100 the clio would win, however...
its quite well documented amoungst vee owners that speedwise theres basically nothing between the mk1 and mk2 on the road.
the clutch is stronger in a mk1 so you can give it some welly off the lights if you really wanted to.
id be amazed if your dads 172 could beat it!!!! maybe your vee is a...
boy racer cars to me = 5 turbo, saxo, punto, the rs turbos, xr2/3i, st170, things like that.
blacked out windows, large exhaust, stupidly loud embarrasing stereo, bolt on aftermarket spoiler, stickers or stupid paint work on them, sometimes reasonably good cars to begin with, but turned into...
some history on this car taken from v6clio.net:
it does not have full service history, the side and front bumper have been fairly poorly resprayed. The bumper does not fit perfectly next to the passenger side front wing. The passenger side door has been baddly sprayed with overspray visible...
