Welcome to CS.
Unfortunately I'm another one in the don't bother camp. It'll cost a lot for minimal improvement in economy (probably not enough to recover the costs over 5 years unless you were doing moon mileage)!
Mate, she's sold on a zed. But the clio passed its mot with no advisories. Which I should be chuffed about. But it means we aren't getting anything German until it goes bang.
Great idea chaps.
I look forward to following progress of everyone involved.
Too much cash and too little experience for me to even remotely express interest, but fun all the same!
Your thoughts on the thread or the name of the ///M?
Pierre for the old BG 182 - Stubborn French POS.
Remy for the T - Stubborn French slightly less POS.
Both the MRS' handywork. All of her cars have had names.
My god there's some dogged old cars being dragged up on this thread.
My mrs has my old 182. It's done 116k and its only problem is the cruise doesn't work and it looses some coolant as a non gen thermostat has been fitted. But in all honesty we'd let if go for 1200 quid. Will technically need...
Bumper off job unfortunately.
Sorry to hear that! Mine went a few weeks back.
You can normally find a second hand one in the classifieds on here or alternatively new from Renault.
Probably a guide (there is for most things) but I can't link from my phone! Good luck!
Yes!
I meant to put a spotted thread up. Would normally have stopped to chat but I was in a massive rush and your mrs looked perplexed (exactly like my mrs does) when I see another owner.
Lovely cup!
Cheers for the nice comments guys.
A little what? ;) that's missing a word I'm sure!
Cooksport guys. Top work. The spring rates complement the Sachs nicely. Can't wait to get them on track!
Congratulations.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how quick the clio is vs the Elise. Cross country my trophy is IMO faster than the vx220 I had previously purely because you can exploit more of the handling more of the time in a safer environment.
Look forward to photos!
There's a little mech in the pump that prevents water squirting as effectively. My previous thread (can't link sorry on phone) explains a bit better and points at the how to guide.
But you're correct, in all honesty just replace it. But the work is the same. 2 hours start to finish for a...
With no proof of belts or dampers that's about 1500 over market value IMO at a minimum. Far better has sold on the forum for considerably less for that in the past 3 months.
I did it last night and wouldn't say it's a pain in the arse. I'm a mechanical r****d and it took me under two hours to take it all out, trim the pump down (see my thread from last night for more info) and put it all back together in the right order. :)
