PCD of wheel bolts & chamfer on wheel bolts will just be a plain toleranced distance rather than a toleranced fit of the centre bore & wheel. Seems incredibly unlikely that the flange on the hub wouldn't bear any load (especially if you're torqueing wheel bolts with the car on the ground, as is...
...that the hole will never be round (let alone the centre bore being at 90deg to the mating face on the inside of the wheel) and will be something more like 60.1 +-1.5mm which is, frankly, awful for what is supposed to be a "close running" fit.
Why, given the severity of a wheel having a...
WAIT WAIT WAIT, that's not the best bit... watch the video on their homepage!
"If you have a turbo, a Vortex Raceflo will eliminate turbolag"
and the "patented technology vacuums exhaust gases out at high speed"
Not forgetting the Clio 182 remap which gains 975% NM of torque... (...
Isn't it standard practice to be asked to post your documents back to the insurer (so they can be destroyed presumably) when you cancel a policy? Leftover procedure from the old days when you could buy insurance, get the certificate, cancel insurance, get massive refund, then still carry the...
Remove passenger side arch liner (two/three bolts along the front of the bumper, one bolt on the wing and one large clip on the inner section that sits at 90deg to the driveshaft) to reveal a T-junction where the feed from the washer bottle splits into two (for L & R headlight washers)...
LMFAO, hadn't even spotted that. Good tactic.
Yeah the ph1 exclusive model was what I was expecting to see in the ad. How bizarre/interesting r.e. PH2 log books, given that all PH2 172 are the same (with the exception of CC, ESP etc).
My favourite was the "172 exclusive" I saw advertised yesterday. It was a ph2, silver, had a regular interior and 172 wheels on it. Right. And I have an F4R powered "v6 cup"...
There are 100000000 topics on rolling road results, how innacurate they are & all the BS power claims out there so I'm going to keep this really short.
Russ' key words were "realistic." You can hope for mid 190s BHP all you want but the fact is you won't make a true 190 BHP with that spec on...
...which given the amount of toe (even on a race car) you start of with, 4mm is a very big percentage.
As a side note toe changes for exactly the same reason bump steer or even roll steer occurs (I'm on about proper bump steer, not neccessarily "I hit something hard and the car changed...
Well yes exactly, was about 100m away but spotted the standard wheels instantly!
Thought it looked vaguely familiar, though there are plenty of blue cars with white wheels on here.
Hang on a minute...
Spend thousands on engine internals + bolt on a load of ancillaries from larger engines (I assume this is where you imagine you'd get injectors, fuel rail etc from) to get... a 1323cc engine producing a whopping 15 BHP more for all that expense/effort AND still void your...
I shall describe it to you:
* Blue with Dodge Viper GTS stripes (as in disproportionally thick, straight down the middle)
* Fairy lights glued/inserted along the length of the headlights (no, really...)
* 3"x1" (roughly) stripes of DRL LEDs slap bang in the centre of the grill each side of...
Re: Finding the RIGHT Clio Sport to buy..
I did explain why...
* There were 301 (max, could be less) sold in the UK,
* Of which in the last 7 years XX will inevitably have been scrapped,
* And of the 200-and-something left, only a small % will be for sale at any one time,
* And it's...
Re: Finding the RIGHT Clio Sport to buy..
Your criteria isn't at all unreleastic (70k/few owners/not silver/FSH/£3k+), it's just once you avoid all the chaved up/abused ones out there & put in a few personal criteria (especially colour) you can suddenly find there are hardly any worth a look...
I find vehicle dynamics really interesting anyway, I think it's a shame there isn't much raw data out there for Clios just a lot of experience & driver feedback.
When you fit your springs & dampers make sure you have a really good look around. With the handling you describe it sounds as...
Now we are getting somewhere since we're using physics! I've had about 5 attempts at a concise reply...
About exactly what you said: "k" is sometimes reffered to as a spring constant. It is exactly that - a constant! Therefore a graph of force against displacement would be linear...
Received some arch liners today sold as "172/182" but they look suspiciously different to the ones that came off my car so I'm guessing they're for a non sport. I'd appreciate some confirmation though before I initiate a returns procedure.
Arch liner that came off my car: front/rear sections...
Ridiculously silly question this :/
The bulb really doesn't seem to want to come out of the 90 degree shaped electrical connector - is it supposed to or do you have to buy the whole thing like below:
Mmm nah... you've completely misunderstood what I'm trying to get at & judging by your F1 comment you're getting rather confused about why racing cars should have a low mass.
Go back to the beginning of the thread, you asked:
Q) Why don't the 172/182 have different springs, to account for the...
