Fog light bulbs - do they come out of the 90deg connector?

Ridiculously silly question this :/

The bulb really doesn't seem to want to come out of the 90 degree shaped electrical connector - is it supposed to or do you have to buy the whole thing like below:

Buy the hole thing that's pictured. Either a 9005 or 9006 can't remember which one.
