Best bet is to leave it standard for your first year or two and build up some no claims!
I made the mistake of buying loads of cars, cancelling policies etc just so i could drive a better car etc. Now I only have 1 year NCB and I'm 20! , Could have had nearly 3 ;)

For 10k you will struggle to beat that AG i posted. Add the Recaro's that he's happy to do a deal on and it would be a well specced FF 200 owned by an enthusiast rather than a boggo spec low mileage car.
40k is nothing!!!
I would rather have a car that actually gets driven than one that sits there everyday as the parts need to be moved and things lubricated. :banghead:

The alien green is around 40k but it's fairly well specced (if you add the recaro's from his other one) and he does actually...
I had the exact same thing on my A3.
It came with budgets and would follow white lines and be unstable at 70 in the wet. Put a new set of conti 3's and the car was completely different. Handles well in the wet and dry and they have a decent wear rate!
