I didn't even realise there was a rule on catch tank sizes. Doubt mine is big enough. Might have to buy a bigger one. Shame, I like my £13 Chinese one lol.
Can't remember the exact wording but, if the car was conceived before 2005, the business about pit props no longer applies, which makes life a bit easier!
My mate has been talking about removing the stickers from his car for ages, but he's lazy and has never got round to it. As a thank you for lending me the car, I said I'd give it a go. The weather was pap this afternoon so I put the car in the garage and cracked out the hairdryer.
From this...
Yeah have read very mixed stuff about them online, but never really think you can put too much stock in it. Sure they're not as good as a Michelin, but would be very interested to hear an honest review. They are bloody cheap that's for sure.
Everyone seems to rate Michelins. I probably won't go with anything too fancy to begin with, maybe try and pick up a few cheap part worns if possible, just for shakedown purposes.
Running 17" wheels doesn't help greatly I suppose.
Got to say, I'm impressed with 'my' 197 so far. While it isn't quite so eager as a 1*2, the confidence it gives you down the lanes is very, very impressive. I was in full heal 'n' toe, chucking it about mode within no time at all. Have thought that a Clio might well replace the Escort as my...
I put some pictures in here: https://www.cliosport.net/threads/new-sensible-ish-daily.818474/
Yeah they do have their issues. It was a nice car, but I wasn't really gelling with it particularly. God knows what I'll replace it with.
Looks smart does that. Shame the S-MAX let you down. My Mondeo got punted by a Fiesta on Saturday, so it doesn't look like it lasted long enough to cause me any trouble ?
I noticed that, don't like it.
The app switching/closing thing now seems more like an iPhone. I really hope that's not the way they're going. I bought a Pixel precisely because I don't like the way iOS does certain things.
Keep it simple I think. Maybe a set of wheels from a Sport, Sport front grill and maybe a set of springs. I wouldn't go any further than that, just enjoy it ?
Is that the official BMW title ?
That's incredible. Long time to own something! I do love how some haulage companies embrace and celebrate their heritage by maintaining some old vehicles. Bet it's quite an experience to drive.
You're probably right there. I'm sure he could make it work. You'd think they would be able to make something of it. It's pretty central, the track is good, the oval is a bit of a USP, so I thought it would be able to make a few quid. Guess a lot of investment might put people off. Heard they...
I love how virtually every sporty 2.0-litre four pot in the mid-90s made about 150bhp. Astra GSI, Escort RS2000, Golf GTI 16v, Primera GT, Ibiza 16v, 306 XSI, they all seemed to do it.
I think welding to the casing would be a problem. Ally doesn't take well to welding and welding to cast can be a PITA. Where do they usually fail? Any pics of that?
