Well at a large aperture it will be (shallow). As for the sharpness, this is partly related to the quality of the lens. I dare say the 50mm 1.8 isn't the best quality lens, so it might not be as sharp as other lenses wide open. That's why pro lenses are mega bucks.

Larger aperture. Or get closer to your subject with the same aperture.

I'm mighty disappointed. I was expecting something similarish to an X100, but a bit more sophisticated. Just seems like body very similar to a D800/D4 but retro looking. Don't really get it personally.

The music player is f**king dogshit. Crashed four times while trying to make a playlist, playing the wrong tracks when selecting other tracks. Still showing as I downloaded even though they are....... I could go on.
