Oh and I'm looking outside at it, sitting on its 18's and more brown than glacier white, the dirtier it gets the more I love it haha, I'll get a pic! :)
Mum and dad have had their 200 almost 2 years now and it's just turned 17000 miles... With the exception of a new gearbox under warranty it's been faultless, no squeaks or rattles inside, nice Bluetooth iPhone connectivity and a great solid feeling car,
I drive it now and again but yesterday...
Oh and I'm with Brett in saying that even with only 255bhp, the Vee can snap on you quicker than you can say "0h 5hit" even when accelerating hard in a straight line!!
Exactly! It's all about the smile factor,
You also have to remember that 255bhp from a hatchback in 2003 was huge power, the s3 of the day only had 225 and it's taken Renault 8 years to make a more powerful car (265 trophy)
It's like saying in 10 years time that the Audi rs3 or focus RS is...
Don't see the deal with the front bumper? It's just the original bumper with the centre bar cut out and the hole meshed, gives it the trophy v6 or mk2 look..
Agree :) buy a cheap mk1 and get it done, I'm sure the end result will be interesting to see,
Just don't do it to a nice mint low miler one or a rare colour...
All fine and impressive looking cars, but the difference as far as enthusiasts are concerned is that a mainstream manufacturer actually put a 3.0 v6 engine in the back of its humble hatchback and sold it officially through dealers, with a full 3 year warranty and sensible servicing intervals!
So why has a mate of mine spent over £12000 at gmc Motorsport supercharging a 106 gti to 310bhp, coupled with the fact that a sadev gearbox alone is £10000 and the standard box would last about 2 miles with that power,
No off the shelf parts are available for s/cing a Clio v6 so everything will...
A Vee with 500hp is just crazy talk, for starters you are probably looking circa £20k to get it to that power and then you have heat and reliability issues when you are there, then you have to consider that the car or chassis is not designed for that power and I would give it 2 corners before...
I can't understand the stigma against the v6 from some people on here, it's like you wish Renault had never made it, I think we should be glad cars like that were made as let's be honest, it's not going to happen again with the way the world is heading!
have you driven a v6 mate? interior aside its soo far removed from a FWD clio that you honestly dont for one minute feel like your driving a renault clio...
i mean, nothing is the same about the whole experience
Genuine lamborghini reventon grey paint, and coilovers, utter perfection IMHO,
hope the owner doesnt mind me posting these, its so good it needs sharing!
It's the insurance being so damn expensive (group20) and simple costs like tyres and part prices that have kept them out of chav hands, in my opinion anyways..
Plus now they probably seem too old to a chav, who would much rather go and get chuckied up on a new corsa VXR lol
Re: clio v6 to buy or not to buy??? youre thoughts please
The fact that you have to ask about them says to me personally you will regret it...
you either "just get them" or you dont.
ive had 3 now, bloody love the things! :D
cheers sean! your car would just disappear under a full moon surely? ;)
keith.... ok mate, think you might be waiting a year..or 10 though lol... shall we say £40k in 10 years time LOL!
