Sprayed the engine cover in a gloss black and the bits showing through in a silver.
The spraying has started.... :D
Original engine cover
Sprayed with grey primer
Sprayed with gloss black paint
Sprayed the bits under the engine cover in silver
What it looked like...
Hmmm.. I dunno guys I quite like them black, as I'm going for a black / silver theme. Maybe they will grow on you when the rest of the car is done? I can always buy some clear ones from eBay and pop them on anyhow. Thanks for the opinions though, appreciate them. :)
Ah nice to know it's not just me then. You're probably right dude. Just be gentle with it from cold I suppose. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. :)
Sprayed the side repeaters with a light coat of black paint
Also started spraying a few other bits including engine cover and pillars. Pictures will be up tomorrow when it's all done. ;)
Thanks! Yeah, of course. Depends what you need doing mind, but just PM me. :)
Yeah I probably will eventually I think. Won't lower it to much, but I probably will lower it some.
Yeah I've heard that. I don't know what to try. It's quite jerky when changing for 2nd gear to 3rd gear and 3rd to 4th gear. Only when it's running cold though.
I had this in my previous Clio. It was an S Reg and I had to clean out the spare wheel well every so often because it would slowly fill up with water. It caused the spare wheel to start rusting as well. I never really bothered to look into it much, but I think it was a broken seal around near...
Carbon fibre vinyl bullets
(I did these myself so they're not spot on around the numbers. Not sure whether to keep them on or do something different with them.)
Opinions / suggestions please guys :)
Will have to give that a go sometime I guess, but I'd need a replacement part from somewhere. Any idea where I'd get these from or would it be a case of going to Renault?
Just wondering if anybody knows how to remove / replace the rubber aerial base or where I could buy a replacement from. As you can see from the picture below the rubber around the seal is crumbling and it looks a bit crap. :dapprove:
Thanks in advance. :)
P.S. - Take no notice of the screw...
Haha, well thanks for the advice dude. It's not really a huge problem to be honest, like I say, just worried it may turn into a bigger problem over time. I'm not very technically minded when it comes to cars either, so I have no idea if this would be the case or not lol.
Ah, as long as it's not something that's going to end up getting worse or turning into a bigger problem in the future. Still curious as to why it's doing it mind. Also curious as to why it went into limp mode twice in the one night. Hasn't done it since though.
Here is my 1.4 Clio Dynamique. I've not had it long but here's a few pictures of it and what I've done so far.
Exterior
- Black clio badge
- Carbon fibre vinyl on the diamond (front)
- Aero flat wiper blades
- Black aluminium short aerial
- Pressed metal numberplates
- Tinted wind...
Yeah mate, that's the one. It's jerking after changing gear, but only when the engine is cold. After driving for a while it's fine and they change smoothly.
When driving my 1.4 Clio Dynamique from cold the gears seem to not be very smooth when changing. When putting the clutch in / out it seems to be a bit jerky. Once the engine has warmed up this stops and changing gear becomes quite smooth.
I've not had the car very long (brought it second hand...
Bit of an update on a few exterior parts I've done / put on.
Carbon vinyl front renault diamond badge (Sorry about the dead flies)
Black tinted wind deflectors
Black clio badge
I've ordered some LED Lights thanks to the help of Fresh88 linking me to the items on eBay. I'm hoping to spray...
Yeah, I probably will change it to be fair. It drives the girlfriend mad as well having it the opposite way to the rest lol :)
That would be great if you could mate. Would love to see what looks best out of black and a gun metal grey.
I got a fair few of my stickers from the same people. The wasps sticker is awesome, had it on my old car. Unfortunately I ended up part-exchanging it due to the head gasket breaking. Only got £200 for it. I'm staying well away from wasps from now on....
