Thinking ahead, I'm after an after market exhaust. But i don't want something that's gonna do my head in!
What is it that makes an exhaust drone?
Bore size? Silencers or lack of?
Only looking for cat back if that makes a difference.
Scott, was all going well mate. Seems dodgy bearing has been the culprit. f**king annoying really. Cos would have been better to keep them mint. Just hope it's only a bit of paint gone. And not something worse!
Nice plans. But agree with the entire green interior being a bit too much. Would be really off putting. Probably hypnotising.
So yea black or white with green cage!
I had a little look back at his car history. Didn't get to far on iPhone though.
Would like go know if he had full track kit though. As without any spacers at all on the ph1, literally blowing the wheel when stationary would make it foul the coil. Was stupidly close
Would appear that spacers are definitely needed in some case then. Are you also in ph1?
Going along with what swede said earlier, each model having different stub axles, acting like a bigger spacer. With ph1 being the smallest. I know you had f1's on your dan, but it was ph2! Now owned by dan...
Wheels are fine. Never had a problem with them before. Only noticed it started rubbing yesterday. Which I would say point to fooked bearing. Giving it the extra play it needed. As was fine before. Just close!
I haven't checked pressures. But they look/feel ok. Only did them a week and half ago or so. Still the wheel feels too close to the coil. Obviously if a bearing had gone there would be that little bit of play. Which could be making it foul on the one side. As there is no evidence anywhere else!
Ahh they're only 3mms. Definitely need something bigger on there. Fronts feel really close aswell. But they're not rubbing. Only passenger side rear has rub marks.
Could probably run 10mm on rear and 15mm on front.
If you could price up for that. Also Dan, do you keep bearings in stock. As rear...
Wahey, I knew there would be someone in exactly the same boat.
Looks like bigger spacers are the way forward. Gonna have to get it done ASAP. It is annoying. Just have to slow right down for corners. Which isn't why I bought the spax in the first place :(
So I imagine fixing the bearing and fitting 15mm spacers or so should fix it. There is a very minimal gap with the 5mms on. And obviously the bearing that I reckon gave way yesterday is causing enough play to rub.
Sound about right swede?
Taken the wheel off this morning. Coil has taken quite a scrubbing.
Not too happy. As they were brand new on last week and now they are all scrubbed up :(
Might have done a guess. Could be that dry sort of rubbing grinding. And i have on actually noticed it on 1 side. And only notice the noise when turning swiftly to the right. So weight would be on the left (offending) side, no noises when driving straight!
