    Congrats to DanPl6 on cracking 200bhp (rs2 + 197 cams)

I'm aware of the figures involved, and it's priced a lot lower than I would have wanted to do it if it was me building them.. Certainly wont be retiring to sun himself in the Costa del Sol off a group buy, that's for sure.

Went to look at a Trophy earlier...

It does. You're just used to it. Sit it next to an E36 328 and you'll see

<3 it. All the greatest cars test our patience to start with. Call it initiation. (I had the clutch go on mine 3 weeks in)

    Random tube??? Vacuum pipe maybe?

Carbon cannister is over that side of the engine bay (behind the wheel arch), could be piping for that. The fuel feed line is also, but you'd porbably have noticed if it was that.

    Fitting front springs

Nip both up. Neither need to be mega tight, just tight enough that they're not going to spin off. Either way, the weight of the car holds it all together anyway.

    Removing gear stick gaitor

There's a cable tie that holds it on at the top. Cut that and it'll pull over the gear knob.

Diagnosing a bearing noise, or gearbox whine please help!

To check all bearings, jack up and rock the wheels on the bearing axis. Anymore than a couple of mm play and you've found your problem.
  25. Budgie

Diagnosing a bearing noise, or gearbox whine please help!

If it still happens with clutch down and it's related to the gearbox then it's the diff. Stick a standard air box and wheel arch liner back in to diagnose properly. If it's not loud enough to be definitive then it's not worth worrying about

    Ktec Coilovers owners advice please

Not so. Springs and shocks are cheap, for lows. Cheap coils for lows only. Anything higher than £400 for a set new means it'll be alright

    Ktec Coilovers owners advice please

Cooksport are the fashionable company at the minute, clearly. I fitted a set, they were pretty good. Second hand set of FK's FTW
