My old mentor got enough cash he went to live in the Caribbean and retired. It was mental sums. I think he did have a nice inheritance as well but it was the final straw for him.
I was a bit gutted because I was out of scope for VR once I'd gone into a TUPE agreement, so ended up just quiting. I'd done 20 years service at that time :(
Or am I over thinking this and for an 8 year old running at 1080p this would be sufficent for a few years

Daughter wants a PC for Christmas and I don't want to blow the bank as it might be a phase and she gets bored.
I've decided the best performance for money option is a refurbished one. I'm guessing she'll be playing a bit of Minecraft and Roblox mostly.
Any recommendations of decent reputable...
Is there also an option of voluntary redundancy? A lot of people I know, took the VR when they had a job lined up. Were thirty years plus with old civil service terms, something like 3 weeks wages per a years service with no limit.
I know the feeling of quarterly redundancies for multiple years and looking back now I didn't realise at the time how much damage it was doing to me and the people around me. Constantly being told on a 3 month rolling basis that your job was at risk.
On the plus side we lost the contract, I...
Spent yesterday evening playing with the rig, plan was to go completely flat with the pedal plate and use the aluminium profile to fix it into, that hit a snag when I realised I'd need to take the whole front off to slide the nut things in. Ended up just going to the lowest level on the mounting...
I can't get the pedal plate undone now lol. I'll get the thing in the air on the weekend and do some alterations. I'll report back my next failure then.
Yes I could, but looking at it I've got the front of plate mounted in the lower holes of the alu profile. If I put it in the top and drop it down to the lowest level that will help massively.
As above, I think my leaning to far forward is the way I have the rig setup so will need to modify...
Not sure how well it shows but they are angled forward and the rig base plate is on the first level of incline. With my foor then on the pedal my foot hangs off the back of the heel plate.
So I'm wondering if the angle of the pedal won't make a difference and it is just the lack of length on...
i may have a bit of a solution for the heel plate as well, it fixes on two bars either side then mounts into the pedal base with two screws. I will try sliding it back and just fixing with one screw leaving a gap between the pedals and plate
I put in the longest M8 bolts they gave me as the bolts weren't wide enough so added a washer/ I guess I could get some longer ones again. That is a good shout but I don't know how the angle would work with getting them and the front bolts tight.
And on the CSL delivery times I don't think I'll...
Early thoughts of the P1000s.
Only can go off the ergonomics of the things as I couldn't get them working in Assetto Corsa.
Meh, heel plate is too small. Even on the lowest foot pedal height, so would need my foot resting on the brake which isn't great, the angleof the pedal is to far forward...
My MQ3 had been a bit of a novelty, bit of fruit ninja, do like the 3d puzzle game and played Arkham nights up until the fight tutorial but was sweating like a fat b**ch at a rave after.
Impressive tech but not really got the space with the kids toys about.
Next step is a DrivR golf club and...
Torn between two now. Been doing a bit of research and the haptic reactors are a must have.
It is either the SimLab pedals because they look cool as and get a bracket 3D printed somewhere t mount the haptics...

Do tthese deals come up often? Looking to replace my triple screen work/gaming setup with one.
I read MS does an app that will let oyu run it as a triple screen?
Being a bit dumb, what do I get for double the price? I'm not one for all this adjustability either, just wnat something I can sort of setup and then plug in and play and live with it.
What load cell pedals are everyone using? Me and Fanatec are done. They've closed my query with them now.
Was looking at brake/throttle only for value, for entry level load cell I've got the Moza SR-P or Asetek La Prima.
Anything else to consider?
I had a little play around with the custom parts bit to chill out after work, about an hour and managed to actually get something looking like a building.
Few s**t bits with the yellow girders but not bad. Quite relaxing after a stressful day at work actually
Never played the first one in the end I don't think but I had trouble last night getting a piece of queue to snap to the path as it was raised a little, had to go through all the settings to make it work.
Watched a fair few YT videos on it recently, pathing fixed and can now have plazas etc.
Not ever played Planet zoo but taken a lot of the mechanics from that apparently.
Frontier have said no plans for game pass but I guess they'd say that whilst trying to smash as many pre-orders as possible.
Just reading back through this thread and funny how the daughter had just popped out when Planet Coaster came out and now she can't wait for Wednesday to play No 2:)
Muted everyone in the lobby, even the music when waiting in the lobby is bad. No idea, will continue with the monitor sound for now and keep trying.
I feel like I've hit my limit of talent though, can get consistent lap times but just not get any quicker. Must be my technique or lack of.
I decided last night to stop playing with myself and jumped into multiplayer, what a good laugh that is. Onl;y did two of the qualifying races I needed but I reckon this multiplayer thing could catch on, was so much better racing.
One problem I had is that my wireless headphones don't work in...
Fanatec finally got back to me, no chance of any compensation as it would be unfair on other customers some how.
Last attempt now I've asked for some sort of discount if I go ahead and purchase what I want.
