Finished off the orange dci today.
Started off with bolting wings back on and refitting arch liners. Whilst up in the air i took the opportunity to renew the brake fluid. Ive never bled the front calipers and only done the rears due to replacement brake lines on the rear beam a few years ago...
Cheers mate. Ive been keeping my eye out for all the van trims and small internal bulkhead, if you see any link me up (y)
182 lump will be great in yours, 40mpg on a run and decent power. If i was doing less miles i would have used a cheap 172 for my conversion.
Yes it will stink of diesel fumes. Should be able to find out what cylinder is leaking when the engine is idling, or as @YorkshireKyle said the black gunk.
As above the injector seals are pennies, should be replaced and seats cleaned up in the head, and injector clamps torqued up properly, or...
Done some rust removing and jacking point straightening on the orange dci today.
Pains me to do as its all caused by incorrect jacking up on the sill. Done a quick fix when i first got it, its lasted ok and still solid but done a better job this time.
Unbolted wing and it revealed hidden...
Carbon dash p**n:love: build looks great. How do you find the Hydraulic clutch? Ive been looking at making a similar setup to replace the crap cable on my Extra.
Class that was on the way back from Retro show (y) gtt is sat in the garage waiting for the lockdown to finish, a couple of small jobs to do but nothing too bad. Still got your gtt?
Swivel bearings are dead easy to do, ive just refurbished a set of hubs for my kangoo, some pics in the thread. A...
Cheers mate. I still love these little dcis for the mega cheap daily, Tax reminder came a few days ago, £30 a year love it.
Going to get the cruise control wired up next as per @GrahamS diagrams. Plenty of time in this lockdown to get it done.
Ill never forget the red rash from the scouring pad
The finish is very durable will last great. I done my Extra van jacking points and sills ten years ago, has not come off. I reckon i would need to attack it with a knotted wheel to get it off.
Just caught up with this, epic updates.
I too have had the Por15 tattoo’s. I once painted the underside of one of my cars and it ended up flicking all over my face. Nothing gets it off even cellulose thinner, had to scrub It off with a scouring pad in the end and my colleagues at work thought...
Update,
Tigerseal finally arrived on Tuesday so cracked on and managed to get the other panel in. Painful job removing the glass, but easier this time as stanley knifed the sealant from the inside then used stainless wire to cut it out. Painted the inside of the panels black to make it darker...
Updates
Renewed insurance with Greenlight, fully comp, agreed value for me and the mrs £250 for the year, cheap as chips.
Needed to give it a start up to leak test the cooling system and a couple of oil fittings. Fired up willing and no issues, batt light was on so give the alternator...
Started prepping the meg suspension and hubs ready to fit.
Swivel bearings were a little bit tight. Ive done a few sets of these over the years and a piece of piss to do. These look to be original, they were absolutely fine no play, simply regrease and refit. Grease bolts on order to fit for...
Just had a flashback from the last CSF i took it to. On track with one of the french lads as passenger, he could not speak no english, hit one of the apex’s and the cowling round the steering column fell off, look on his face was priceless:ROFLMAO: After track had finished, picked up some pizzas...
Should see the back, its chaos inside with graffiti, kill list and loads of track stickers. When i used to do a lot of drag racing, it usually ended up in a piss up on the night at Santa pod, and i used to leave the doors open and a permanent marker for people to do whatever they pleased ! Will...
I have the dewalt dcf899 and it has plenty of poke. I have damaged mine somehow though as the impact mechanism is noisy on it now, i think it was when i tried to undo a bolt that was tight as feck and rattled it for ages. Bit disappointing to be fair its not had tons of use as only occasional...
