I’ve done about 2000 road miles on mine and 3 trackdays. 2 wet one dry. They’ll do another track day I’m sure but then they’ll definitely be dead. They’re definitely not cut out for dry track work!
I can’t fault them really. Are they as good as a tyre twice the price? No. Are they somewhere...
I probably sold that when it was new!
if I owned that car, I’d spend the inevitable £1500 that it’s going to need (tyres, brakes, belts, servicing) and put it up for £7995. Maybe even £8995 If it’s super clean.
Of course it’s not a like for like comparison, I never said it was.
But I just don’t get why people get so uptight about other people investing in cars.
An RS Turbo is s**t to drive. And if it gets wet it will rot in front of my eyes. As a drivers car, my daily 182’d Kangoo is 10 times better! 😂
Wet sad news, I look forward to it more than the family holiday! 😂
But needs must. Totally understand where you need to be as a responsible organisation.
And people of CS, please see the “5-10 business days!” For the refund. Please don’t harass an already busy admin team or they’ll get mad...
I own the following cars, they are all in a unit, under lock and key.
S2 Escort RS Turbo
Clio 172 Cup
Volvo 850R
Mk1 Clio 1.8 16v
Fiat Coupe 20vT
Apart from the Mk1 clio (that I owned before, about 10 years ago so doesn’t really count) I’ve never driven Any of them. They were purchased...
Painting the inside of a track car (a car with no opening windows or air con!) black, will be a regrettable decision in the peak of summer when you’re waiting in the pit lane to go out.
Trust me! 😂
Thanks for the patronising response Jonathan Dinlo.
However, nowhere in this thread have you mentioned what clio you have. There are many types of clio, many many types.
So at the risk of repeating myself, and god only knows why I’m still Persuing this line of enquiry with someone that is...
Renault Clio what? 1.2? 1.5 dci? 2.0? 3.0?
Head gaskets don’t leak oil. And if they did you’d know about it.
You need to take it for a second opinion. Take it somewhere that knows about Renault’s as well, not just A Generic Barry Bolt-on Car repairs place.
I’d take it for a second opinion. Preferably To someone who knows these cars properly.
The ‘mechanic’ you’ve taken it to sounds like a tyre fitter are Kwik Fit.
Where are you based?
No way!! I sold that car when it was brand new!! 😂 it was a shared car between mother and daughter.
They lived in Downend, round the corner from me.
I have a massive soft spot for RSi’s. I actually think that point to point around town etc, they are quicker than a 172.
AR1’s literally pulled out old Abarth 500 track car apart. So much grip and sticky-ness that after every Hot track day, something was broken.
Back in the NS2R’s or a wet track day on Uniroyals and it was reliable as ever. 😂
I had them on mine (I get NS2R’s for £20 each, not to) but I just couldn’t cope with the road noise on my commute. The tyre drone is louder than the radio!
I’ve now opted for a second set of wheels with Uniroyal Rainsport 5’s as my daily tyres and leave the NS2R’s for track.
Both sets of tyres...
