Swedish trackday HD video with a Clio 182

Safety I think. Its more to stop people sticking them on the inside of the car as they can become detached in an accident and then become a rather heavy missile bouncing around inside the cabin. It does all become a bit redundant though when they let someone out with a phone gaffer taped to the...

Swedish trackday HD video with a Clio 182

Such a shame UK tracks don't allow suction mounts any more :(. They can provide some epic camera angles.

    RS200 Glacier White Pics

:( Saw this thread in 'Whats New' (so didn't notice the forum it was in) and came in expecting pictures of Group B Ford epicness. Still nice though, I love the 200 in white.

    Deflector Plates

Hmm. If plastic is ok I might butcher a tupparwear box?

May be worth getting your mot done before January

According to the wording of the rules as long as the airbag light isn't on it will pass. But again it depends on how much of a PITA the tester wants to be.

    This kind of thing?

    Genius! Lol.

    Deflector Plates

Yeah it should, but I have neither a sheet of alloy or metal snips :( (I fail as a man, I need a shed).

    Deflector Plates

What do people make the brake cooling deflector plates out of if they are using fog light brake cooling ducts? I've seen metal ones and also custom built ones, but I'm after something as cheap and easy as possible. What kind of temperatures to they have to withstand? Would something like a...

May be worth getting your mot done before January

That is not the case: From http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_170.htm There is no relevance to if the car should have had washers when it left the factory. To the letter of the rules they have to work if they exist. To me this means that having washer jets that don't work is a fail, but removing...

    Rear Seat removal issue!

From what I remembered from when I tried (and failed) to remove my seats, you need to remove both the torx bolts in the middle as well as one each side that holds the isofix bar in. Should probubly get round to grinding mine off.

May be worth getting your mot done before January

Lots of people 'LOL-ing' at the idea of using washer blanks to pass the test, but has anyone actually been through an MOT with HIDs and blanks? To the wording of the testers manual headlight washers have to function only if they are present. There is nothing mandating they have to be there in...

Cup and Standard rear shocks. What actually is the difference?

My cars mainly used on track and I run track tyres with quite rigid sidewalls.

Cup and Standard rear shocks. What actually is the difference?

I don't have access to a 172 cup. My mate does have a 182 with cup suspension and it was noticeably stiffer than my 172, but since putting cup front shocks and sportlines on mines a lot firmer. I thinks its becoming clear that the difference in rear shocks is a lot less than the fronts. I've...

Brake cooling ducts without removing things?

Whats the right term to search for? I'm not getting anything on eBay searching for 'caf' and if I search for 'ducting' I'm getting tumble dryer pipes :)

Brake cooling ducts without removing things?

Well decided to have a bosh today and see what I found. Turns out it should be fine without removing anything. You can bend the horn out the way on the passenger side, and if you undo the big bolt holding the carbon canister you can then bend that a little out the way on the drivers side. Should...

    Trackdays/Tracktime

Goes both ways though. What I'm saying is I think a CS members only day will fail due to insufficient numbers. You asked for opinions. Thats mine. Chip - The Burnspeed day is not limited to CS members only.

    Trackdays/Tracktime

But you don't hear off ordinary track day companies having to 'gauge interest'. How about a 50/50 split or something? A CS organised day with 50% of the spaces open to members only? It makes it still very much a 'CS day', but alleviates the risk of to few numbers? Its just an idea. I think its...

    Trackdays/Tracktime

    How so?
  20. S

    Trackdays/Tracktime

I know, sorry, I'm just trying to highlight that when you say your are on a fact finding mission to gauge the demand, limiting the day to CS members only is going to seriously limit the demand for the day. Thats all. It will be worth looking at the Burnspeed Llandow day to see how many of the...

    Trackdays/Tracktime

If your just after looking for demand my personal view is that CS Members only is very restrictive and you wont have the demand. Clio's only (including non members) will be better, but will still be far short of the demand of a day open to anyone that is organised by CS. A CS members only day...

So, who's looking forward to the 2013 Mk4 Renaulsport Clio Williams 230 1.6t Cup?

Yep, and an extra 30bhp simply from a remap will be very welcome! You must have to spend about £5000 to get 30bhp more from a 182.

So, who's looking forward to the 2013 Mk4 Renaulsport Clio Williams 230 1.6t Cup?

Lol. VW have put their DCT into things as small as the Polo GTI, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Clio gets a similar option too. So long as its an option and people can still choose a proper manual (and more importantly, lighter) gearbox then that will be fine :)

    Trackdays/Tracktime

You get that range at most trackdays and provided the rules are layout out and enforced its fine. At least with a Clio based day you won't get the massive range of closing speeds you can get on mixed days. Would the 100% CS members limit be extended to passengers? If so, then my interest will...

    Trackdays/Tracktime

:D Sounds promising. I think limiting it to just Clios might be to restrictive. But just CS.net members should be fine. Or at least a large proportion of slots for CS Members only. You will then have a solid regular community, but also the ability for people to bring their friends along too (I...

    Trackdays/Tracktime

Is the plan around a 1 off, or a continued regular project? Clio's only for a 1 off would be fine, but if you want to do it regularly then opening it up would make it more likely to succeed. I'm in which ever route you take though :D
