Yes the shims went years ago as a lot of after market pads don't fit with them.
The CLs have loads of room and you can hear them rattling around when you drive. I can move them about in the carrier too. The previous pads did the same but didn't squeal anywhere near as much.
The current...
I've just fitted some new CL5 front pads and the squeal is horrendous! Much worse than the previous set I had (also CL5s).
I applied some Copper grease to the back of the pads before fitting but it seems to have been ineffective. Where else should I put grease to stop them screeching all the...
OH MY F****** GOD THIS PIECE OF F****** FRENCH S****!
So, it turns out that when the error code says "Passenger Side Pretensioner" and "Left side Pretentioner" what it actually means is.... RIGHT SIDE!
I've been dicking about with the wrong god dam seat. I tried MickPM's question of...
Wether you meant it or not, your posts come across as coming from a bit of a nob with an attitude problem. As a Trader on here I would have thought you'd want to be more careful?
But anyway, you have given me some other things to try which I will later, so thanks. Its a shame you arrived in...
To be clear, the approaches with resistors etc was me attempting to get the light off without disabling anything.
I want to disable it now due to none of my other efforts working. I'm not trying to use resistors to allow me to disable the line in the ECU. My resistor and wire splicing efforts...
If your not trying to be shitty I'd suggest not opening with "your going to kill yourself" in future...
This is the 3 setups I've so far tried, all suggested on here, to get the light out, with no success. (stock setup, then joining the wires bypassing the connectors, then using resistors)...
Clam down.
I've not joined any wires that shouldn't be joined. What I tried first is bypassing the connection blocks by connecting the wires from either side of it directly, i.e. the exact same wiring setup as stock except without the dodgy connectors. This didn't work. What I've then done is...
Well I've put a resistor on each and its made no difference. Lights still on and RS Tuner still shows the passenger pretentioner circuit is open.
I think I'm going to end up scrapping a car because the airbag lights on! I'm without a car and need one for my job.
I've got some 3.3 resistors coming in the post to try. My worry is that with the wires removed from the plugs and spliced together under the seat it should have a good connection and be fine, but its not. This might mean there's an issue elsewhere in the system. If its 'upstream' from the plugs...
I've now cut the cables out of the connectors under the seat and joined them in a connection block but the lights still on so its something else. I'm going to try a resistor but I would much prefer to just disable the problem bit entirely!
So I've plugged my new RS Tuner (with the Airbag module) in and it confirms my Airbag light is on due to the pretentioner cables under the passenger seat.
However if I lock and then configure the Airbag ECU, it won't let me disable the Pretentioner causing the issue. It says the "Aitbag ECU...
Does anyone have a CLIP or an RS Tuner with the airbag module and fancies disabling whatever is triggering my airbag light in exchange for some beer money? If you have an RS Tuner but not the module I can buy the module for you instead.
I'm in Leatherhead, and my MOT expires in 5 days and I...
I've found lots of claims an RS Tuner can do it, but very little from people who have actually done it. ~£170 is a lot to pay to find out it doesn't work, even if I do then sell it on.
I may take you up on your offer Graham. Are you about over the bank holiday weekend?
Cheers for the offer but yes your a bit of a drive away :)
Is there anyone near Surrey that can use CLIP to disable the check for the Airbag to turn the light off?
The RS Tuner option might be good too. But its expensive to buy an RS Tuner, unlock code (and presumably the airbag module?) just...
Its not fired as very rarely it will randomly turn off. But this is once in a blue moon.
Clip sounds like a route if I can find someone near me. Interesting about the RS Tuner option. Didn't know this. How much is the airbag module?
Am I correct in thinking that you can turn off the airbag light with CLIP so that even without any resistors or an airbag fitted the lights will come on when you start the ignition as normal but then go off and stay off?
If so where can I get it done and how much will it cost me?
My airbag...
Where can I get a replacement positive battery terminal? The whole thing, connectors and red plastic cover and all? Mines manky and doesn't tighten properly and the covers broken.
My burn finger confirms one of my rear calipers is binding. What's the best place for a refurbished one? I've found them for £88 with a £12 rebate so far.
The difference in price between 205 and 195 when I last bought RSRs was 50p, so that's not an argument.
I've not tried them on track yet, but on the road the 205s feel no different, but they do sit better on the rim. The 195s on a 7" rim always looked very slightly stretched to me.
There aren't any spacers, checked when I changed pads last time and the previous garage that changed the disks obviously threw them out.
I've got new spacers and hub nuts ready, as I was always going to change the disks anyway. Its just the new droning noise without any wheel movement makes me...
